Seems like a lot of new Head Coaches for the old Metro Teams. Any updates. Below is what I know:

Clarenceville - Interviews began this past Monday and 2nd round will be next week.
Cranbrook - Steve Graf - Athletic Director took Head Coaching Position
Harper Woods - No Updates, still looking (anyone know what happened to Heath?)
Hamtramck - No Updates, still looking

2010 private vs. public school debate

Let's try to keep it civil on here. BiasedGuy and Pavlov can produce their numbers while I can produce mine.

About multiple state championship teams since 1975 - there are 39 such schools. 10 are private schools while 29 are public schools. If this would be equally divided on a percenage basis, then there would be 159 football playing private schools (10/39 * 618 schools in 2009 playing 11 man football). In actuality there are far fewer private schools than the 159 private school school number produced. So we know that the privates are far more likely to win multiple football championships than their public counterparts.

the 2010 -2011 season should be an exciting one for the Ramblers they are loaded with young talent. starting with a junior Quarterback he is 6'2'' 230 lbs seen him at camp last week he sure has a cannon for a arm he looks fit and is big and strong his name is jeff crosse ,there recievers are fast with great hands. at the mich camp a few weeks ago noticed a kid from fraser 6'0'' 175 lbs tre wells good speed great hands will make a nice combination. they have speed in the back field. the team went 0-9 last year with many close games, 2010-2011 season should be a turn around year for them with the following year doing some damage in the play offs.

MAC Red team of the decade.

I got the idea after Searn posted his teams of the decade by divison poll (D1/D2 etc). There has been 8 state finalists and 3 champions in the MAC Red in the past decade. I have seen some good debate, and cases made for many of these teams, so I am interested how this will turn out. Cast your vote.

Brother Rice vs CC 2010

It looks like this game will now be played at Wayne State rather than Birmingham Seaholm. Apparently, Seaholm's capacity is insufficient to handle the expected crowd that will be generated by Rice's 50 Anniversary and All-Class Reunion that weekend.. Personally, I would have preferred Wisner for the nostalgia.

The game will still be on Sunday, October 10.

Angel Eyes wants night time spring football game

She might be in favor of it, but I'm not as long as the game will be played in mid April. When the older daughter ran track there was snow and flurries in April. If the game was moved to mid May, then I might be in favor of it. There is always the expression April showers bring May flowers. What would happen if ESPN decided to come, it poured, and no one showed up?

According to michigan-football.com schedules, Cranbrook and Lutheran North might be part of BOTH the Catholic AA and the Metro League as Lutheran North plays all three remaining schools (Clarenceville, Hamtramck, and Harper Woods) and Cranbrook plays two (Clarenceville and Hamtramck). Also interesting is the fact that Clarenceville plays everyone in the AA except Divine Child.

Controversy over on the West Side

I can see charging extra provided that there will be 3 or more games at the venue, but in this case it isn't happening. Plus $5 for parking sucks. So how can Rockford violate the OK Dokey rule of $3 and $5 for tickets without getting permission from the league? It would seem like the league would have to be notified plus the other school playing in the event.

This brings up an interesting point for me this year as a Clarkston boys basketball venue wanted to charge $10 for one freaking high school game. I decided not to go based on that plus as well as the game time was noon.

I thought the article was interesting. I'm not sure why he waited until March to resign if he knew he was done after last season already. Maybe because he was trying to transition the program to one of his assistants?

Either way, this is a big loss for Ravenna. They cannot be happy to have to start with a new coach again.

So we are now lulling(is that the right word?) into the off-season with so little as a peep from anyone. Question proposal : How are KLAA teams looking for next year? Any key newcomers that will make a splash?........how about loses that teams may struggle to fill?
I myself am a John Glenn slappy so I will have a post later on about what people can look to expect (or not expect) from the rockets of John Glenn next year........people may be surprised with what I have to say!........Stay tuned...

Traditionally, the Football Committee meets in January (no?). It's now March and there are still no minutes from the Football Committee on the website. Did the Football Committee not meet this year? Seems like, with 8-man coming into effect next year, they'd have plenty to talk about.

On a not-totally-unrelated note, traditionally the Soccer Committee meets in February and there are no minutes from their meeting, either.

Just wondering if anybody knew the situation.
