For the life of me, I cannot believe how otherwise intelligent people, actually think that most private schools have enough money to pay athletes to come
play for their schools. For one, it would be pretty darn shameful for a faith based school to cheat the MHSAA rules. Two, I'd challenge anyone to tell me
how the heck this pay to play scenario would work.

Questions:

If pay to play (the ill informed usually say recruiting because they do not understand that every paying student was, by definition, recruited) was going on,
why don't certain power FB schools turn out more D1 college athletes?

Why stop at FB? Why are there next to no bb titles or wrestling ones etc? Why does only one CHSL school positively excel at swimming and not the others?

If this scenario was playing out, why would schools have down years?

HOW would it be kept quiet for so long?

Without question this what a slight rebound year for the Central after a couple years of noticeable struggles. The Central again showed that each team can
be a tough out in the playoffs, and ultimately that is what decides the good programs from the bad.

A year ago I ruffled a lot of feathers when I stated that the CHSL was "Dead" as an elite football conference. It was met with calls of blasphemy
from the CHSL die hards. It almost makes me proud how much devotion was given to the CHSL that alone showed hope. I was happy to have my post help us slip
our way throug the boring off season months with fodder for discussion.

I was met by cries last year that I was only looking at the 2008 season when I was pointing out the weaknesses growing in the league. Of course I showed
statistics that pointed largely that this was a trend, and not a one year event. I also went out on a limb and pointed out how the economy might continue to
increase this...

advertised. rice and dls had good playoff runs, running into very good teams. its hard to say what the final rankings would be for these 4. quite frankly, id
say it would be CC the clearcut number one, with a 3 way tie. but i gotta give the nod to olsm above the other 2, just because they beat them in the regular
season. id go in this order: CC, OLSM, DLS, Rice. seem fair? i was wrong about CC. they were a lot better than i thought they would be. 46 is a beast. looks
like they will return to the CC of old, proving me to be wrong on that front. good season to all. congrats on everyones accomplishments.

This looks to be CC's toughest test to date. The Titans have been at #1 in many polls all year.

Everyone on this forum knows the game represents a clash of over the top offense vs an extremely tough CC defense. Which will prevail? I think it is fair to
say, that while CC has played against some legit QBs in Popp, the kid from DDC, Beachnau from Holt et al, they have not seen a team that heaves the ball 50
plus times a game.

4 and 13 are the primary WRs. Rumor on Mlive is the Justice Wright will try to play at RB. If he is healed that could cause trouble by opening up that
dimension on O for the Titans. I just hope the kid is not risking his future health for a $500 ring. Their O line is reported to be big. Obvi they pass block
well. And the QB Fracassa poses problems on every play with his ability to make plays while scrambling. (Popp from BBR similar? Both due to stature to see over
the big guys?). Can CC apply pressure and contain on their QB? Can the DBs...

First off congrats to the teams still alive, you've done us all proud. This is where the CHSL teams have been judged in the past, glad to see a return
from those still going.

DCC v. Stevenson.....I've felt pretty good about DCC winning it all since about week 8. I will not bail on them now. But I expect a battle till the end.
DCC by 10.

OLSM v. EGR....I think this is where OLSM falls, I will be completely honest when I say, I did not pick the Eaglets to get this far, in fact I had serious
doubts that they were going to be a tourney team mid season. Props to all of the coaches, and kids on that team. EGR by 12.

Both CC and SHS had tough games that almost ended their seasons...... they are both battle tested and both are veteran teams led by Seniors.. should be a whale
of a game... the 1 thing that sticks out to me is that JF is a big time winner.. he's a 4 year starter that's been in the "lights" for a long
time... he's got "it"- whatever "it" is... if it's an even game- I favor SHS because of JF... I remember what the Caitlan kid did
against BR a few years ago... conditions won't come into play as it's inside..... CC is a team that's a sum total of it's parts....SHS is
driven by a phenomenal QB- the likes of which CC hasn't seen this season

this is not the same coach CC faced in the Regionals in 2007. If memory serves that coach moved onto small college coaching where is son is playing (also
played for Dad at Holt) But I will be darned if I can remember who/what/where.

Anyway here we are.

DCC v. Holt. This is a solid Holt football team. Thier rematch vs. Rockford, shows just how much they've grown, and how dangerous they can be. This
should be a solid game, that could go either way. But in the end, I feel the DCC defense wins this game with a big 4 quarter stand. DCC by 1 score.

Rice...very impressed with Rice. Would've never guessed this from the team that entered the postseason. Lowell, is a different animal however, and while
this too could go either way. I expect this is the end of the road for Rice. And that will give Rice 9 losses in two seasons, yikes.
DLS v. Inkster. I like Inkster in this game. I think DLS maxed out what they had this year, I give credit to the coaching staff here. Inkster by 10ish.

Canton is a team I can't figure out. They play it was has been proven to be a very poor KLAA (although they are in the best division), but they destroyed

solid team, but they also have too many issues to expect to beat DLS.
