So we are now lulling(is that the right word?) into the off-season with so little as a peep from anyone. Question proposal : How are KLAA teams looking for next year? Any key newcomers that will make a splash?........how about loses that teams may struggle to fill?
I myself am a John Glenn slappy so I will have a post later on about what people can look to expect (or not expect) from the rockets of John Glenn next year........people may be surprised with what I have to say!........Stay tuned...

2010 Week 1 - Novi vs FH Harrison

Looks like there has been a recent schedule change for Novi. They were scheduled to open against Milford, but for some still unknown reason, that has changed. Instead, they have scheduled a 2 year home/away series vs the Farmington Hills Harrison Hawks.

The Pats seem pretty rock solid with returning starters in many skilled positions for next year. Defence: Lucas, Muller, Hurt, Parkin, Tarhanich, Sharp and Benevides. Offense: Tower, Andrus, Marzion, Lucas and Sharp. The trenches have all been lost to graduation: McAuliffe (All State, All Metro) Coleman (All State Honorable mention, All Metro), Barber (All Conference), Nixon, Derigiotis and Contratto. It appears that the whole Defensive and Offensive lines are going to be inexperienced next year. Who can fill these spots and will Franklin change their traditional Wing style Offense to more of a spread look to compensate for the big boys that are gone. It will be interesting. Off season weight training and conditioning will be key to next years success. Coach Fortin, any thoughts?

Does anyone know where or if there are award metals available for All Area teams or All County Teams in the Detroit area? Like the ones that are awarded in the KLAA for league honors. My son seems to think so. Any feedback would be great!

I was a bit disappointed that Coach TK decided to call it quits. I have always been a bit of a 'Cats fan ever since my cousin played WR for them earlier this decade.

I am also surprised that Statman24 has not weighed in on this. It would be interesting to read his take on the situation given his close ties with the program.

After the Stevenson game --- CC wins with seniors. These are the same exact kids at CC that last year you did not consider "good" let along "very good" , aside from Capatina in 2008

CC doesn't win with Super talent, they win with hard working seniors. --- THANK GOD THE NEW CC IS THE OLD CC!!!!!

Stevenson was clearly the better team.

It has to be bothersome to CC alums to watch the new CC play. They didn't even try to play smashmouth; it was almost sad.

I think this game (and the past few seasons, to be honest) are proof that CC doesn't recruit. If they do, their recruiting coordinator needs to be fired.

Stevenson dodged a bullet. Northville could not execute on two first and goals (int and fumble). Told you in week 3 this team would at least hit you in the mouth. Northville pushed Stevenson around the entire second half. Congrats Stevenson for the win and great year Northville!

From the by-laws it looks like they get to pick 7 players. Mustang fans, players and whoever else would like to comment, who are they. I have them picked but I will wait and see if it is a popularity contest or based on actual performance and dedication.

Which KLAA team will go farthest in the playoffs?

Now we'll see how the KLAA really stacks up against the other conferences.

In Division 1, I firmly believe that Grand Blanc will go deep into the playoffs. They are very talented, particularly on offense. Grand Blanc defeated a number of playoff teams during the regular season (Northville; Brighton; Howell; Walled Lake Central). It doesn't seem like the local press gives them much of a chance to go past Regionals. I disagree.

Other Division 1 playoff KLAA schools include Canton, Stevenson, Plymouth, and Northville. Stevenson has been on a roll as of late. Canton's only blemish was a loss to Stevenson. I think both teams will advance past the first game, maybe the second game too. Plymouth and Northville both have uphill battles. If either team wins their first games it will be considered an upset.

Division 2 - Brother Rice at Walled Lake Central. I don't know if getting bumped in the first round of the playoffs after going 8-1 will ruin...

Glenn won on (get this) a blocked field goal at the end of the game............Tim Hardin and company continue to dial up some magic for a good 8-1 regular season.............Langford will be back playing in round one of the playoffs for those wondering.

After a huge win against Salem and with a week 1 win over Stevenson, could they possibly have a chance at getting into the playoffs with a win next week @ Hartland. Not too many teams will be getting in at 5-4, but Franklin has been able to do it the last 2 years. What do you think?
