Here are some of my thoughts on the Metro after the first 3 weeks of play:

I think the biggest surprise for me is Hamtramck and the 132 points scored through 3 weeks. While it does not look like the defense has improved, their
offense seems to be on fire. 2-1 through 3 weeks is the best I think anyone can ask for at Hamtown. The fact that 1 loss was by 2 points is even better.

Clarenceville came out horrible in the first 2 weeks, but looked good against Harper Woods. I see this upcoming game against a tough Divine Child team the
determing factor on whether they actually have turned things around and will make a run for the playoffs. I think it took a while for the team to get personal
right, especially up front. 1-2 through 3 weeks is a poor start and I believe unexpected.

Cranbrook starting off 2-1 is a great start for the new coach. He believes in his offensive option system and continues to work on pounding the rock. It will
be...

Offensive tackle James Patrick is a bit of a freak in the Metro Conference. You won't find too many 6-foot-7, 315-pound players there.

Harper Woods coach Heath Filber has the luxury of using Patrick as a drive blocker or pulling him to lead the sweep.

"He can run," Filber said of Patrick, a three-year starter being recruited by Division I schools, including Indiana and Central Michigan. "He
wins all the sprints in practice with our other linemen. It's not often in this league you find someone his size leading the way around end. And we'll
play him on defense...

Should be interesting to see all the changes this year with all of the teams:

Cranbrook - With the new coach from OLSM coming in and a focus on the run, what will we see offensively and defensively? I have no idea.

Harper Woods - Defense will probably stay the same, but the new veer option coming in taking over the Wing T Jet should be exciting. Especially with Hartfield
under center(if that should end up being the case).

Hamtramck - Will a new coach bring a steady offense and defense? We have no idea what they ran the last couple of years, maybe there will actually be a
gameplan with actual plays that make sense. Still I imagine that #'s will be the downfall here. It would be nice to see Hamtramck actually but up some
competition this season.

Clarenceville and Lutheran North - Could be the only 2 Spread Shotgun teams in the league this year. Will be interesting to see how much each decide to throw
the ball this year. Doubt there...

Let me know your thoughts on whether they will be better, worse, or equal.

Harper Woods - I think they will be improved over last year. Still have Hartfield running the ball, and he will want to have a strong Senior Season.

Cranbrook - I think they will be worse, It will take time for the new coach and players to get on the same page. If they plan on focusing on running the ball,
it could be a long season. (I have heard grumblings of maybe running the option?) Could work as size is not on their side.

Hamtramck - Worse, Even with a new coach, it is still Hamtown.

Clarenceville - While they do lose a nice senior class with Gainer RB/LB and Whitaker QB/DB . They will be young on the line, but very strong with skilled
players. 9 players with starting experience on the defense coming back. I see them stronger than last year, but with a tougher schedule.
