I have to give props to the Ypsilanti Willow Run announcer last Friday night. I'm not sure if he's the regular or not, but this guy was a crack-up!
Mendon dominated the entire game (41-0), but this guy was upbeat and positive, giving his own color commentary along the way and trying to get the 40-50 people
in the home stands into the game. For myself who is used to deadpan delivery or one-sided enthusiasm from announcers, the man was a breath of fresh air. Keep
up the good work! As I was sitting on the packed visitors bleachers, a rumor went by that at the half, we would be "taking over" the home side - no
such coup was attempted however.
I was happily surprised to see that half of Mendon seemed to make the 2 hr drive - props to all of them too. Hopefully next season will see Mendon in a league
that makes more sense. Thanks to Willow Run for the hospitality and the sausages!

i know that i can't be the only person out here who is wondering what happened to the sjv league.....all that's remaining is mendon, white pigeon,
centreville, and bronson. can anybody explain why it was split up in the first place??? now we have both constantine and schoolcraft playing in one of the smc
leagues, just what they need.....more teams....but anyways, mendon, white pigeon, centreville, and bronson all somehow got stuck in the red arrow conference.
honestly, that makes me kind of mad. just the fact that new buffalo, LMC, covert, all those teams so far away when there are plenty of other places nearby
where they could play. i know not too long ago bronson was basically kicked right out of the big 8, imo thats where we should go, doesnt it just make sense to
do that instead of driving over 2 hours for regular season games???

2008 Playoffs round 2, MP Sacred Heart vs. Beal City. It's on!

All right Goblueaggies. I am sure that like me you knew this was coming and could not wait for it.

First of all, I am still angry that Beal gets this as a home game. I understand that due to their conference schedule Beal City ended up a few more playoff
points, but come on Beal's only loss was to SHA, thusI feel SHA deserves to get this game at home.

All right, enough of the homer whineing on to the game.

Beal vs. SHA is always one of the best small high school football games/rivalries in the state.

SHA and Beal have played each other twice in the playoffs in the last 10 years and it is a split, SHA won the first meeting in 98, and Beal won the second in
01.

SHA comes into the game with a 10-0 record, while Beal comes into the game with a 9-1 record with thier only loss to SHA in week 1, 40-20.

Rain showers predicted for the weekend, which could be a slight advantage to Beal insofar as it could slow the SHA...

I knew MCC was having a great year ... but I didn't realize until now they only have 56 students ...

How many players do they have out for football? Must be just about every boy in the school.

Very cool that they can even field a team ... even better they are 8-0 and have outscored opponents 381-43.
