I believe one of the other articles on the subject stated that GB had more varsity programs in other sports (hockey, golf, etc.) and that was one of the more appealing factors to them joining the KLAA.

Oh, and I think they also had to be able to join the league in fall of 2009. I'm not sure if Belleville or Dearborn could have pulled out in time to meet that date constraint.

Test Scores are much higher at Grand Blanc then both Dearbron and Belleville. Dearborn and Belleville also have lower attendance rates compared to those of Grand Blanc, which i think can represent the character of...

I do not know about all this talk of who should go where and to what division or who would be better in that division, so just to make it short and I hope I am speaking for all the KLAA folks, we welcome Grand Blanc to the west division.

Could you explain this? How would they have done a better job than Dearborn or Belleville? I would hate to read into this

What may have tipped the scales in Grand Blanc's favor was its proximity to the other five schools in the West Division of the KLAA.

There has to be other factors in choosing GB over a program like Dearborn that no one is mentioning.

If proximity is the main reason .. .the people in the KLAA need to look at a map.

Yes, GB is closer to the "west" division schools ... but all they had to do was make small changes and Dearborn makes a lot more sense.

Dearborn is 10-11 miles or less from 4 schools in the KLAA "south" division.

Grand Blanc is 20-50 miles from each KLAA West school.

Very interesting. I've seen Grand Blanc play this year and they will be absolutely loaded with talent next year. They automatically become one of the division favorites in 2009.
