I actually had a Freshmen/JV board on here for some time .... but after a couple years I think it only had 1 or 2 posts so I got rid of it. ... if there was
some interest I'd get it started again in a jiffy.

While there are some special kids on the high school level that should absolutely never leave the field .... I think most stronger Class A programs should be
able to platoon at least 80%.....

I've found it hard to get information on the Frosh and JV levels. The CHSL web site tries to track the lower level teams in the CHSL, but due to spotty
reporting of scores by the schools, the standings and scores usually are incomplete. Outside the CHSL, there's very little publicity given to the lower
level teams. Maybe Searn can start a board on JV and Frosh football and ask for followers of those levels (mostly parents) to post info on teams, scores, top
players. I'd also like to see the scores published in the major newspapers. However, since the newspapers seem to be going the other way (less coverage),
publicity for the JV/Frosh level isn't likely.

As for the games, some of the best football I see every year is on Saturday morning (CHSL: Frosh games). These games draw some pretty decent crowds and
it's fun to watch the player development over the course of the year. Some of the best games are the same school rivalries as the big boys (CC vs...

I agree with Searn. CC should follow the BBR model. Last year, Rice only had one two-way player, and that didn't occur until the last 1/3 of the season.
(OL/DL Zach Cherocci). Pickens saw some spot duty on offense, while playing full time DB. I think we'll see him at RB a lot more this year. He has the
potential to be another John Goebel at RB. A lot will depend on the development of senior-to-be Jeff DeClaire. Jeff had a lot of success as Henneghan's
backup last year and he has impressed in the weight room during the off-season. He could surprise and end up an important part of a potent one-two punch at RB
in '09. In addition to Pickens, another potential two-way stud for BBR is Tim Hamilton. Jumbo, as he is known, is currently flying under the radar
because he played JV last year. But, insiders know that he will be one of the state's top recruits in the Class of 2011. Along with Sherman (CC) and Rice
teammate, Justin Cherocci, Jumbo will be one...

Diesel, sounds like you are a current or recent CC player/student. Best of luck in the off season workouts. This is a great time in your life that
you will appreciate more than you currently realize once it's said and done. Don't short change yourself even one little bit..

I have heard that there are a couple of young skill position players coming up. Not much about new lineman, but I have heard that the ones who were back ups,
or got less playing time are improving dramatically. I know that Jeff Sherman is getting dramatically stronger and faster. He is throwing in track. He has Mike
Martin's track training journal and is a little ahead in lower body (Squat, Deadlift, clean, and snatch), and a little behind in upper body, namely Bench
Press, per the timeline. Mike was doing 345 for 6 reps, and Jeff is doing 325 for 6 reps. Now by the time Mike was done he was doing something like 440 x 2,
but that is almost untouchable. I know right now Jeff is squating 545 lb x 5 reps, butt to the ground. I have also seen him deadlift 600 lb x 3, Front squat
405 lb x 10 reps, Clean over 315 lb, and Snatch 225 lb x 3, but that was in January. I haven't really worked out with him since then. Just talk to him
about it a lot. He will be all opposing lineman can...

First off ... no clue

2nd ... They would be better of IMO if some juniors beat out some seniors for starting jobs in a few spots. I felt early in the season when CC was playing so
many guys both ways teams were wearing them down, and as such they lost big games in the 4th quarter. (Brother Rice and DLS)

I think CC would be wise to only play a few guys both ways full time.... Kinville and Palazetti come to mind ... and possibly a few dbs could double as WR
since all the formations do not include WR and they could get some plays off.

Other than those guys I think it would be smart to keep the front 7 fresh.
