No doubt that there are a lot of teams that are disappointed each season. When you're a good team, your goal at the start of the season isn't to have a winning season, nor to win the division or conference. Nor even make the playoffs or win a couple games there, but to win a state championship. I'm not saying that if you dont win, it's not a bad year, but that you didn't achieve your goals. And IMO, when i dont achieve my goals, i consider it failing and a dissapointment.

Depending on exactly which teams make the playoffs and where the cutoff point will be, here's one interesting potential district that I came up a long time ago when I first did the average division breakpoints.

Clarkston
Davison
Grand Blanc
Lake Orion

I'm sorry on not getting the revised ADB's out since the MHSAA is late on the co - op program lists so I can confirm my co - op programs and hasn't posted the new SEN on the football schedules the last time that I went there the other day so I could check those out as well.

I guess that I should finally respond to someone saying that for CC anything less than a state championship is disappointing. Heck, no team wins the state championship even half the time so I guess that there are a ton of teams are disappointed each and every season if you want to claim CC is disappointed by not winning one that year.

Grand Blanc has some real talent. I'm giving them my vote for now, but I have a feeling that they will make it to the final eight this year....

Klaaniac is correct ,Canton has been okay for the past 10 years but has not broken thru . Canton just shows what is possible at Salem with a decent coach . Plymouth has done all right , and the player pool is coming out of the same hopper . Conspiracy theorists believe some 100,000 K a year administrator is throwing the talent to Canton , sorry people , no one is on that grassy knoll .

One-dimensional offense with a much more average defense than people realize? It's easier to go against them than you think, no matter how many preseason articles Grandpa gets them.

I saw the Hartland v Rockford playoff game (quarterfinals?) out at Rockford last year. Beforehand, I was told the QB and big wideout were supposed to be great. The QB looked average and the big wideout quit on any play where the ball wasn't thrown to him. Looked big and fast but like a "me" kind of kid. Maybe they had an off day or maybe Rockford had a lot to do with it but Hartland was not impressive

Im sorry but how can you say that Canton has a rich history.......they have been VERY good from 02-present but that certainly does not make the team rich with history........they are still a baby in terms of historical success. I would say they need another 6 or 7 years of winning before being considered a team "rich" with history. *REFERENCES- check canton records from school opening till '2001 (omit '90, they were good in '90)

Canton is simply loaded. If it's possible for a team with that rich of a history to be a sleeper, they are it.

Ya .. Hartland had a nice year in 08 ... But a repeat would be a shocker..

But they earned the automatic bid for making the final 8 last year.

NCAA, no doubt your right, but for a program that has extremely high expecations, anything less than a championship, they consider a failed season. For me, i grew up when CC was always ranked nationally and they won three straight, so it's weird that they have not won in a while.

CC returns all but a few players from a solid 2008 team.

I have not voted yet ... Right now my vote is between SH Stevenson & Rockford..

My next group of serious contenders may include (in no order) ... Liv Stevenson, Detroit CC, Dakota & Lake Orion....with a few others close

well, cc is returning quite alot of starters, including their really good full back. But i think that the days of CC being a top team each year might be over.

5 votes for DCC is a bit of a suprise to me. Are they on the rise this season? They have been out of the mix for a few years now it seams. I like coach Munger to get Rockford back to the big game for the 5th time in 6 years.

Rockford recently has always been in the mix, and i have nothing in my mind that would make me believe differently. But i just cant go against my home team Livonia Stevenson with Austin White. They're returning 8 offensive starters, four on the line, and they still have coach G.

For the record Warren De La Salle will be in D2 for this falls playoffs unless it is a record setting year. The Pilots are team #70 on my sheet currently and no team that high has been in D1. However, 2 years ago it got as high as team #69 to set a new record as well. If people want to discuss what are the chances of a team ending in a division, start a new thread and I will try to answer it when I have the time since someone asked on mdead about DLS.

Extra bonus to the conference polls series ... division polls .. to be released randomly throughout the summer and posted on the main board.

I feel like I gave TOO MANY options for D1 as it is ... but if you really feel like someone else will win it ... vote for "Other" and please post who the "Other" is ...

Also ... making the final 8 in 2008 gains a team an automatic bid into this year's poll...
