I compare your "Clarkston parent quote" to nothing... I was simply surfing active playoff team's web sites last Wednesday and smelled this for what it was a mile away.

As one who currently maintains a website for Novi Football, I must respectfully disagree. If Romeo coaches saw this, they would probably ignore it. The message posted was not inflammatory by any means (at least not to a majority of folks here or on Mlive who opined).

Wasn't able to connect today with the superintdendent. She's a very busy lady, you know.

We did swap emails, though. I asked if she'd gotten anything from someone complaining about the Romeo football web site. She said nothing that she was aware of.

I suggested that she check her "spam" or "junk email" folder, since that's where garbage messages usually end up.

My last comment on all this: an email I sent today to Clarkston that I would have sent irrespective of this topic's unfounded, talk-radio/tabloid like beginnings and the subsequent spin of equally-unfounded speculation, innuendo and lies that it generated by a few members.

Coach:

Congrats on the Friday win over Romeo. You have a talented, well-coached team.

As a Romeo parent whose son was on the field during your last drive, I also want to thank and compliment you for the sportsmanship you displayed keeping the ball on the ground and taking a knee on the final snaps. Our kids were demoralized realizing their season was ending and you did not take advantage.

A very classy move.

btw: Kudos, too, to your stadium announcer. He's the best I've heard -- great voice, great personality, and he announces both sides players with near-equal enthusiasm.

I have half a mind (I mean this rhetorically, not as a comment on my intelligence, tho my wife and others would say the latter is more true) to email the NCAA and complain about opinions being expressed in high school athletic forums like this.

Applying Mr.'s logic, the NCAA is fully aware of what he is doing -- he is "Mr. NCAA," after all -- likewise the OAA with "OAA scouts" and , by extension, both organizations should be reviewing, approving, and held responsible for all the posts and views expressed by these [self-named] representatives.

I am switching it over to here since I think that it is going to get controversial, but don't think that Searn will delete it unlike mdead.

Basically just by the Romeo school district linking to the website, they are endorsing what is on the website despite what the disclaimer claims. Would the school district get away with a dsclaimer if they had links to pro slavery, pro KKK, pro Holocaust, etc? I don't think so. I made extreme topics to prove my point, not that I like any of those things.

The Hartiland school district several years ago de - linked the Hartland football website from the official school website several years ago since the person was putting out stuff that the school district didn't like (don't know if this is still true, but it was the case several years ago).

On my political websites, several major political websites de- linked to a so called conservative blog when he went on an anti-religion kick plus several other...
