Harper Woods looks to clinch a playoff spot this week. I know they haven't played anybody yet, but Northwest is an improvement. We'll get to see
how much of a " D " Harper really has since they only gave up 6 points through 5 games ( Touchdown to CVille). This week will show us how physical
and the amount of discipline HW has this year. If Harper wins this one, look out. They'll realize the conference championship is only 2 games away, and
they'll look towards Clawson. So as for my prediction. I expect Harper to, once again, dominate both sides of the ball. Look out Clawson. And look out
conference " Powerhouse " Lutheran North, because Harper looks focused and seems to have an eye on the championship. Everybody's talking about
North in the drivers seat. All Harper has to do is win, and they're the champs. Its in their own hands, they control their own fate.

They better make the playoffs after that scorcher of a schedule they've put together this year, i'm interested to see if they are the real deal. If
they are and can pull out wins these next four weeks then they can do some damage in the playoffs, and we all know they should do damage with the amount of
athletic talent they field compared to teams like clawson and north (Not to mention the rest of the metro)...they'll handle Northwest this week, i'm
not sure about the rest though.
It's also good to see that your week 6 predictions are soley for the Harper Woods game. I mean, you could at least put forth a little effort and not look like a complete homer and try to pick the rest of the games. You did start the thread titled WEEK 6 PREDICTIONS. |

Don't you think it is in their best interest to lose the rest of their games and not make the playoffs. I think beating NW is going to reduce their
playoff points even further. They are destined to play a good team in the first round and we know how that went last time. The conference will be embarassed
again when HW goes to the playoffs.

You forget to mention that in 2000, Harper Woods lost to Britton Macon after winning their first round game against a state ranked Royal Oak Shrine.

I'll agree that the past is the past. But you can't predict whats going to happen from the " Past ". Therefor, I expect Harper to play good,
even if they lose week 1 in the playoffs

Season: 20-5 No out of conference games this week (this is the week that Liggett would have been out of conference). No need to research Flint Beecher or someone like that. Clawson at Lutheran Westland: The Warriors are better than expected and have pulled some upsets at home over the years. With a win here, the playoffs would be a possibility for Lutheran Westland. Clawson needs all the rest to make the postseason. Clawson's offense has been much better than Westland's, and that should be the difference. Clawson 21, Lutheran Westland 7. Clarenceville at Hamtramck: 0-5 faces 0-5 here, but Hamtramck has yet to be in the hunt in any of its losses and has been outscored by an average of 40-3 or so. Clarenceville should win this handily. Clarenceville 34, Hamtramck 6. Cranbrook at Lutheran North: The Mustangs' three deep zone has been tough on Cranbrook in recent years. Cranbrook will need to execute extremely well to win this one. I don't see the Cranes offense keeping up with North's. Lutheran North 35, Cranbrook 14. Lutheran Northwest at Harper Woods: Harper Woods has not been tested yet. The biggest tests should come in the next two weeks against Clawson and North. Might the Pioneers look past the Crusaders? I can't see it. Harper Woods 32, Lutheran Northwest 7. |

Clawson 38 Lutheran Westland 14: I don't expect this game to be as close as some others. While Westland's record is 3-2, their 3 victories are over
three 0-5 teams, including an overtime win at clarenceville. Clawson will show that they want this game more.
Clarenceville 24 Hamtramck 12: Who'd of thought C'Ville would be involved in the toilet bowl. I expect C'Ville's defense to win the game for them. I can't imagine the reaction to a 0-9 season for them. Lutheran North 48 Cranbrook 6: This game used to have Conference Championship implications. Not anymore. North rolls past Cranbrook easily. Harper Woods 42 Lutheran Northwest 12: Harper Woods looks like they're the real deal. They should continue to roll through the metro. Looking forward to their matchups with North and Clawson

1. Clawson 44 Westland 6- I was thoroughly impressed by Clawson last week and I think they will hand to the Warriors.
2. Clarenceville 42 Hamtramck 0- This is Clarenceville's last shot at a W seeing as their last 3 games are against Notre Dame Prep, Montrose, and Clawson which should all be beatdowns. 3. Lutheran North 42 Cranbrook 21- North will win this one easily but the Cranes will put a few on the board at the end. 4. Lutheran Northwest 20 Harper Woods 14- THis IS NOT a homer pick. I actually mean this one. Harper has played well this year but I'm pretty sure a couple of our conference's JV squads could have been 5-0 against their schedule. It was the exact same situation last year except that NW was 1-4 instead of 2-3. NW has had the Pioneers' number the last three years with considerably less talented teams (if anyone saw the 04 edition of the Crusaders, it made you just wanna puke). I expect this year to keep the magic rolling. |

clawson 16 westland 15 - i see westland as the same type of team as northwest and that was a close game. clawson pulls it out with experience and a better
offense
c vill 32 ham town 0 - yeah not much to say about this one north 42 cranbrook 28 - cranbrook hasnt shown much of a defense but their offense can score harper woods 26 northwest 16 - northwest has impressed me as of late but i see harper beating northwest at the physical style. |

Westland comes out on it's opening drive and runs 22 plays (all of them dive, mostly out of unbalanced formations) to get the ball to the Clawson two inch
line. Clawson causes a fumble and returns it 99.8 yards for the score. Both offenses become stagnant and Clawson wins a nail biter 7-0.
C-Ville comes into the game actually believing they have a chance to win, however the Cosmos come out fast (which is slow to most people), Hamtown runs a wonderful looking screen that gives them 40 yards on their first possession. However, three of their players are ejected from the game for throwing punches with two minutes left in the first quarter, the once promising start for the Cosmos fades as #3 Brooks for C-Ville takes over and rushes for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns, C-Ville wins, but doesn't destroy them. In a game that matches wits between two great offensive minds my boy Gary over at the Brook just cannot compete with the fire that the Stangs are throwing. Cranbrook attempts 82 passes as they try to keep up with LHN. However it is not enough as North only runs two different plays the entire night and still manages to put up 60 on the Brook, Cranbrook manages to put 40 up on the Mustangs, but it's only because the entire North secondary is hurt on the second play of the game when all three collide trying to pick off a lame duck throw. Harper Woods and northwest battle it out in the best game of the week. When I say best I mean Harper Woods completely slaughters the crusaders. However, the tricky crusader offense sneaks in a touchdown against the stout HW defense on a reverse. Harper Woods rolls despite racking up the same amount of penalty yards and rushing yards. They should enjoy the victory knowing they're in the playoffs, too bad they won't be able to play a team like Dearborn Heights Star International in the playoffs. |

westland vs clawson 24-21 - westland wins the game on the upset
north vs cranbrook 36 - 6 north shouldnt have a problem winning hw vs northwest 40-12 - hw will finish this game and get there spot in the playoffs c'ville vs ham town 21-16 -c'ville should win with the better offense |

Lutheran North vs. Cranbrook. I don't know. Everyone thinks Lutheran North is a big power house, yet they are not the same as they have been in the years
past. I think this conference is up in the air. But, I see Lutheran North winning at home. Lutheran North - 28 - Cranbrook - 21.
Harper Woods vs. Lutheran Northwest. These teams are pretty much the same. They run a lot. Pass a little. Yet, Lutheran Northwest runs off tackle and Harper Woods runs their Wing T sweep. Here's the BIG difference, Harper Woods is way too athletic for the Crusaders. Pioneers 35 - Lutheran Northwest 21. Clarenceville vs. Hamtramck. I want the Cosmos to win. Clarenceville 21 - Hamtramck 0. Clawson vs. Lutheran Westland. I would like to apologize for downgrading Lutheran Northwest. I completely underestimated them. Or did I overestimate the Trojans?? Lutheran Westland has beat three terrible teams, and it's time they step up in life and beat a real football team. Just like North, Clawson isn't the same as they have been in years past. Ooo boy. Call me a homer. Call me what you will. Lutheran Westland 14 - Clawson 13. In double overtime.

Clawson 28 Westland 6 Sparks may have something up his sleeve to stop the dive -- he may tell his LBs to fill hard and wrap up. If you're
at this game and you see Westland start coming out with 4 or 5 recievers on offense, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Things are about to get very ugly,
very fast.
Cville 44 Hamtramck 12 The Ville soaks up its first win of the year, as Hamtown helps them finally look dominant. However, Hamtramck has spent some time on YouTube this week and opens the game by scoring on the "Wrong Ball" play and LSU's fake field goal play. Harper Woods 33 Northwest 21 Danger of mutiny on the HW sideline when they find out teams may actually score on their defense. Their AD senses trouble, leaves the game, and immediately begins petitioning to become an independent school and leave the Metro. This way they can play 9 creme puffs a year. Does Detroit Western International have a week 6 next year? What about Taylor Light and Life? North 35 Cranbrook 14 Supporters of the spread offense should watch this game to see both ends of the spectrum. When North has the ball, the spread will work. When Cranbrook has the ball, it will not work, and will only give North more chances to score. CBrook will run their infamous shovel pass at least 27 times in the second half because you just never know when they'll break one and score. |

My feeling from everyone's picks this week is that everyone thinks Clawson isnt that good cause they almost lost to Northwest. And that Westland is decent
becuase...I'm not really sure they won 2 in a row???
Harper is really good because they are 5-0 /undefeated / but have played who??? I believe Harper is a solid team - but still has its weaknesses and isn't much better than previous teams the last few years. Westland plays hard with the talent they have that can only go so far. Clawson is still a good team with young QB and RB's and a veteran line. And Northwest can be very competitive when they want to and decide not to turn the ball over. North just out athletes everyone and platoons the heck out of the smaller squads - so they are always tough to beat. North 47 Cranbrook 14 Clawson 40 Westland 6 Clarenceville 18 - Hamtramck 0 Northwest 22 - Harper Woods 12 |

Sorry Primetime, but Northwest is "competitive when they want to be"? Which kid on the field dosen't want to be? Which kid doesn't give 100%
when they walk between the lines and if that is the case then, shouldn't the coaching staff be smart enough to not put those kids on the field. As far as
"deciding not to turn the ball over", you mean they choose to do that? I think turnovers happen because of poor technique or because of poor decision
making, or good plays by the defense, but I am not aware of anyone who chooses to turn the ball over. Your comments are a bit silly. How do you judge a
football team, if one method is based on how many self inflicted turnovers they commit. Then Northwest isn't very good. But they could be.....if they
decide to be????
