It is awfully tough to repeat let alone win three in a row-that is why Dakota will not be D1 champs in 2008. I guess it is like betting on the field when
Tiger is playing in a tourney-it may not be the best bet, but the odds are in your favor.

King had a strange enrollment dip for the 2007 season. ... I'm not sure why that happened ... as you can see they have been pretty consistent the past
few years in terms of enrollment besides 2007 .. in fact the last time they were below 1,800 was in 1985.

Near as I can tell both Macomb Dakota and Stevenson lost a lot to graduation. That should open up the door for Rockford or my guess, De La Salle.
I dont follow the bigger divisions as closely as the mid and smaller ones though. Not many D1 schools over here in W. Michigan other than Rockford.

It is even more interesting to see a team that lost in the first round of the playoffs by 26 points gets mentioned over the team that defeated them by that
amount. Currently the largest division is 1 - 2 in trying for that third championship in a row. So when Dakota wins this fall it will be 2 - 2.

Wow, no one stands out. Hudsy in D2?
Ike or Mac Dak. Would prefer Ike for obvi reasons.... Holt has a new coach, rumblings in the district, and lost a lot of players, most botably Zajac. I thought Troy lost a ton of seniors as well....I was planning on trying to get to one of their games this year. Suggestinss for matchups? King. PSL? Ain't gonna happen. It took from the stone age for the last (only?) one Fordson - when there is talk early they don't live up to the hype. DLS would be intriguing because D1 appears so open. But Boeing as alluded there are things going on with the personnel Stevenson appears to be a regular in the HS PO scenario. But my general dislike for the attitude of the parents and student body precludes me from picking them. Franklin appears to be a nice, regular, comfortable, 'win a couple games in the playoffs' team, then out. Obvi they have a system in place. Dragons lose their ability to breathe fire in the playoffs like clockwork. Sorry guys, cuz I kinda like your team Know even less about Cousino than these other teams I a weighing in on (and that is saying something) Has Rockford retooled? Dunno. Tough conf could toughen them up for a run. Guess I will have to start asking my buds over on the west side about them. |

Grandville will be improvedYup. I believe so to. Looks like the Bulldogs have some "skill" players back. All depends on the line play (as usual). DLS returns 7 on O and 8 on D. Thats enough to win my vote. |

Its too early to know much of anything. A summer can do wondersin terms of a team finding its mojo at the right time. Kids get bigger, skill players get better
and faster, qb's acquire poise and leadership ability and so on. Having said all of that I like the PROGRAMS of Rockford and Dakota the best, but I have no
idea how well the teams will do once the season starts.

trezdustrial wrote: Yeah, last year's Grandville team was very young. Add that onto the fact that they played 6 away games last year and will play 6 home this year. But I get the feeling they'll do well in the conference once again, but not be able to beat Rockford in the playoffs. Shaw's extremely conservative offense can't put up points on them. Also, this is coming from mlive so I don't know how much of it you can believe, but apparently Grandville's QB this year will be a sophomore and possibly the best QB to ever come through Grandville. I have my doubts, but we'll see. But, if somehow, some way Grandville gets past Rockford, they could go far in Division 1. Whoever comes out of the O-K Red in Division 1 tends to go far in the playoffs every year. (Rockford: 2006, 2005, 2004...Grandville: 2003, 2001...East Kentwood: 2002) |

BiasedGuy wrote: Whats that supposed to mean? Stevenson has one of the best student sections in the state and their parents are second to none. I dont know where you got the idea that Stevenson Students and parents have a bad attitude. Yea the students start chants towards a bad call, but show me one school whose students dont. |

I put my vote in for Detroit King to get it done for the PSL... assuming they end up in D1.

Macomb Dakota - they don't play non-league games, but they do play in a tough league.
