I'm especially wondering who Walled Lake Northern is going to play in week 8 since the North crosses over with the West. The West only has 5 teams and Walled Lake Northern will finish 6th.
Anyone?

I saw TNTDyno raise this on another thread, and I think it deserves some discussion.

I think Northern gets a bye, unless the league already lined up an oponnent. I don't think that has happened, but I hope I am wrong.
Colonel, in the unlikely event that Howell loses to Hartland do you know who has the upper hand and how the league will rank Milford, Howell and Hartland for the sake of the crossovers? |

After reading statman's info I looked at the playoff points. It appears Hartland has little chance of getting beyond third place with a win over
Howell. I think if Hartland beats Howell and all three win their other game(s) it will finish as follows:

Cracked Head wrote:Yes, because Howell would have 2 losses overall, while Hartland and Milford would only have one. You are correct that Hartland crossing over with class B South Lyon East will hurt them in regards to points. Therefore, it will be: 1. Milford (vs. Lakeland) 2. Hartland (vs. WLW) 3. Howell (vs. Mott) Of course, this would mean Milford and Lakeland play two weeks in a row. Therefore, I hope Howell wins over Hartland (and not because Milford is scared of Lakeland), and the match-ups you mentioned would play out. ![]() |

mott will not take 3rd unless they beat lakeland and northern
since kettering beat them they could both end up with the same division record and kettering would take 3rd because of head to head they would both be 2 and 3 in the division kettering losing to central western and lakeland assuming that happens mott losing to western kettering and lakeland assuming they lose to lakeland so therefore i have lakeland v milford wlw v hartland kettering v howell either way i dont see either waterford school winning in the crossover game |

But if WLC beats WLN then they will most likely finish 2-3 in the league as well. There will be a three way tie for third. (WLC beat Kettering) I imagine the
MHSAA point tie-breaker would be used for this as well. Who would have the edge?
I also hope Howell wins because no one wants to see any team have to play back-to-back with a real possibility of meeting for a third week in a row in the playoffs. |

Howell won, so they win the West. Assuming the favorites in the North win their games next week, Walled Lake Central, Kettering, and Mott will all finish 2-3
in the North. None of those three teams beat the other two. Therefore, as noted above, the tie-breaker is MHSAA points. Mott will be 4-3 while Central and
Kettering will be 3-4, so Mott will finish 3rd. Kettering has a substantial lead on Central by points, so it will be:
1. Lakeland at Howell 2. Western at Milford 3. Mott at Hartland 4. Kettering at Brighton 5. Central at Pinckney 6. Northern at Ferndale IMHO, the West Division teams will be favored in 4 of the 5 West-North match-ups, with the lone exception being Central at Pinckney. ![]() |

just a quick question..
is there a reason why all north teams at at the west teams? does it just switch every other year (i.e. next year west will be at north, year after that north will be back at west, year after that the west again will be back at north) or is it determined by mhsaa playoff points? where is that link so i can keep up on teams and stuff like that? im really upset that lakeland and milford arent playing two weeks in a row... ohwell ill live. the lakeland howell games over the past two years have been great games. with two years ago going into double overtime and lakeland winning and last year howell beat lakeland by 8 or so points ( not positive on the number ) in a really good game with alot of rushing yards. im excited

I'm also dissapointed in Lakeland and Howell not matching up against eachother, there is alot of hatred between these two teams, and it is always a great
game dating back to the past 6-8 years.

As of right now Lakeland and Howell should face each other in week 8. soooo the hatred lives one.

Thanks for shedding some light on this. Given last weekend's results, it looks much clearer from what I can tell.
