I'll give plenty of options here .... as opinions will vary ... I'll include some good choices in the upper divisions plus the 14-0 teams in the lower divisions.

We'll call Muskegon #1 ... who in your opinion is #2 ?

It's hard not to vote for Rockford but, gosh, there seems to be an awful wide gap based on the outcome of their head-to-head. Negative yardage!

My vote goes to Lowell.........
Their head to head was horrible but they put together some things offensively. Their first drive ended with a fumble at Muskegon's one. It went down hill from there. Rockford, on the other hand, could not do anything offensively and had just as hard of a time stopping Muskegon defensively. I can the reasoning for putting all of those teams up there. It certainly covers the gambit. I would argue that a few of them should not be in the discussion, mainly the non-Rockford D1 teams. |

Hudsonville. They played Muskegon close more than once, which is something that Lowell or Rockford cant say about themselves.

I would argue that Muskegon turning the ball over had a lot to do with how close the game was in game one and I would argue that a muddy field was much more detrimental to Muskegon than Hudsonville. You might argue that turnovers and playing conditions are part of the game, but I reserve the right to remain biased towards my opinion. :P |

I just feel that if Hudsy would've played Rockford as tough as they played Muskegon, then the outcome would have been different. Idk, just my opinion.

I'm with BigRed92 on the Hudsonville thing. I listened to both Hudsy-Musky games on the radio. If it weren't for turnovers by Muskegon...not close.
Also, I think that sometimes the familiarity these coaches have for each other and their ability to gameplan for their styles makes a huge difference. I think
Durham is an excellent coach and Hudsy had a good team with some good talent, but they never closed the deal on any of their big games, despite being handed
several opportunities by Muskegon to do just that. THAT does not make them the second best team in the state. Sometimes fans get so caught up in scores and
forget that the goal of any football team is to "JUST WIN BABY". All they had to do was win one of those three chances and we'd all have a much
higher opinion of them......but they didn't.

I went with the pound for pound route. Its obvious that the smaller schools will never get a fair shake, but you can't deny that Muskegon CC is about as
dominant at their level as any team in the State this season!
Yes Lowell, Rockford, DeLaSalle, Lake Orion, Stevenson, EGR would likely run the little guys into the ground, but you truly have a hard time arguing against a team that dismantled the competition in the pound for pound category. I'd even say its slightly unfair to discount them as the #1 team in the State!
