Interesting article that says Inkster is getting some students from the city of Detroit:

Mr NCAA wrote: Not really breaking news on the Inkster side .... but interesting none the less. I hope the coaches are really investigating their players before allowing them to compete ... sounds like with all these illegal students ... and investigators ... it will become more and more common to find out their are ineligible players competing in varsity sports .. and there will be some forfeits coming. Coaches gotta do their homework and not simply trust the school did theirs.

There's been a lot of talk on the Michigan sites that White is indeed going to Inkster, with some posters seeming to be credible on the topic. UM, of
course, is interested in both White and Gardner as recruits. Some folks who seem to be credible have posted that Stevenson has told White he can't play
there next year for disciplinary reasons (whatever that means).
On a related note, there are a lot of murmurs in the recruiting netherworlds that both UM and MSU are starting to distance themselves from White for off the field reasons. Of course this is all just speculation, albeit interesting speculation. |

All of that, as you said it is just speculation. At this point in time, i would greatly surprised if he wasnt a Spartan not just next year, but also the year
after that.

austin white isnt transferring. when he talked to the administration at inkster they made it clear that they stopped open enrollment a few months ago. looks
like he'll be wearing double blue and white once again next year under a new coach.

For all that Stevenson has done for Austin, doesn't it kinda bother anyone on your team (especially the upcoming seniors) that he was going to bail on
the program?

There must be some things going on at Stevenson that have either been posted as speculation or are not known by anyone outside of the program.
One can understand sometimes if it was a poor team ... or a poor system for the player. But for two years Stevenson has not only won at a high level .. but Austin White has also got his touches along the way. There has to be something else going on ... (making it especially the curious is the resignation of the Coach G at Stevenson) |

As a senior this past year, there didnt seem to be any friction between the coaches and A.W. nor was there any friction between A.W. and the administrators. As
for coach G, he has been coaching since he graduated from H.S. and he just felt like he would rather have some leisure time now that he is reaching his
fourty's

coachfortin wrote:the answer to your question is yes, a lot of the upcoming seniors do feel betrayed. hopefully the new coach (whoever he ends up being) will be able to step in and do something about this. while the players are mad, i think they all understand the difference he will make next season so they cut him some slack, which is wrong on their part IMHO. |

No one ever pointed out all the Inkster kids that went to Wayne, Romulus, John Glenn, or Robishaud before...Now they have a good team and people want to pile on... |

TommyZ - about sources, it was a very interesting article on the Freep and DLS dropping out of the bb tournament at Detroit Renny. For Clarkston boys
basketball Christmas bb games or the Pontiac Martin Luther King event, I always relied on either Mr. Fife himself or long time assistant Eric Chambers for who
we were going to play. They've never lied to me. So I'm pretty sure that at one time Clarkston was suppose to play Detroit Pershing yesterday. I'm
not sure when the official switch happened since it was late on the Clarkston HSSportsnet schedule website. Based on some dates it either happened around
Thanksgiving or slightly earlier based on when the Utica game was. So everyone has their own sources for things and people come up with their own scenarios. I
even emailed Steve Bell that I was disappointed when the switch happened since I was interested in how we would fare against a preseason top team. At least
Detroit Henry Ford moved up in people's subjective ratings before our game with them so at least we played a good team.
So good luck to Inkster next year in D2. However the MHSAA rules in the way of ineligible players schools have to live by those results as well. |

Tommy, if you look at my comments closely, all i said is that there was no friction in the locker room. I never said that i wouldnt be upset and felt betrayed
if he did go. I would definately be upset to some point if he left, but i wouldnt hate him. he's a great player that turns a good team into a great team,
and once two-a-days start, the players will put that beside and look towards franklin
