South Division |
Lead | ||
|
It appears that most teams is this south division have abandon the Wing T formation and are going with a spread O except Franklin. Is this offense getting too
old-school for high school football? Personally, I like it. Tends to open up the passing game. Also, what does Franklin's future look like once Fortin
and Mcrobb move on? Are there any good prospects that could fill those spots?

There are endless athletes..... | #1

That will carry on the tradition.
Remember these names: Baumgardner, Gadsby, Vantuyl, Next years offense line (Seniors), Brandon Tower (Runs through brick walls if asked), Freshman this year named Jacob Tenant (will probably be the best full back to play at Franklin), and hear me out on this one (Jimmy Mazaris) and (Jake Erme) which is in 8th grade this year and will be probably be moved up to JV next year because they are that good. Mazaris is such a freak, he is busting his butt to try to make our weight to play Blue Jays at 170 and he is 5' 10". He is fast and has a great head for the game. There were plenty of O-Line people from Last years Blue Jays that were fantastic they were already moved up to JV level in high school. So to answer your question, yes there are plenty. Coach Dante |

Yeah you are correct coach, I seen both the Franklin JV and Varsity games against Stevenson and Baumgardner/Tenant are going to be the real deal. Both QB's
for Franklin threw 3 TD's as a result of that offence Franklin runs. That QB on JV looks good too with a strong arm. Not sure where he came from but I
like what a seen and could very well be the varsity starter next year. David will be fine, he's a tough kid and will finish the season as one of the best.

I also like the formation. In order for it to work properly you need a dominant fullback which franklin has had. If they continue to get those players than
the offense will be very tough to defend. The big concern is the difficult KLAA league. good football teams will miss the playoffs every year in this league
because of such strong teams within the leagues. It does however make for interesting discussions on these forums for us!

I say advantage Franklin ....
The less the other schools see the Wing-T ... the better off Franklin will be. Look at the trouble the NCAA teams have when they face a team like Navy that runs an offense that very few teams run. |

Baumgardner (spl?) is the real deal. He very well could be one of the better players in the Kensington Confrence. He is a play maker and i feel like he is one
of the top five or six players in the whole KLAA. Another player to watch for is Israel's little brother (name?). Watching him on the JV level last year he
has good size, but at times he looked a little timid. He is still young and hopefully will have time to become more aggresive.

Jacob will be a 10th grader next season and I believe with proper conditioning that he will be better then Tracy.
Like my previous post, Jimmy Mazaris and Jacob Erme will be the studs for the future for Franklin. They are going into 9th grade the next season and they are awesome. By the time Tennant is a senior and Mazaris and Erme in the same back field, WATCH-OUT!!!! Dante |

so do you think kelbert will move him up like he did with your son his sophomore year?

I think.... | #9 | ||

he might if there is is not a sufficient back-up for Vantuyl at Full-Back.
I think Coach Kelbert and Coach Diponio would like to have Tennant stay another JV season and have Erme and Mazariz be in the same back-field for this next season. If it were me, Tennant would go to Varsity next year. Dante |

5'9" and around 185 lbs and ran a 4.85 40 time. (not too bad for a freshman)
I think he is signed up for velocity in Canton and will be working out with me at Franklin this off season. I'm sure the coaches will advise him to go into track. The thing to remember: it doesn't matter how fast, strong or smart a running back is; it is how good the offensive line is going to be! Dante |

Tennant is at full back, Erme and Mazariz are at running back and wing back? Who's the running back? |

You are a little confused.... | #14

Tennant at FB, Jimmy Mazaris at Halfback, Jake Erme at QB. (Erme will not be a running back)
I do not know who they might use at Wing back but there was also another 1000 yard runner from Freshman last year (I do not know his name) but what I gathered was he is real fast! Coach Dante |
