This could make the QB situation over there even more interesting. ...
I would have to think that Sheridan is the favorite for the start of the season ... but can Forcier soak up enough this spring to take the job early fall?

It's official; he's gone.
I assume b/c it became clear that Forcier had already become the frontrunner for the starting job, followed by Denard Robinson, a QB out of the Pat White mold. Sheridan is not an option...not unless both freshmen get hurt. ![]() |

Makes sense and really should have seen it coming. Threet transfered in for Lloyd and that system not RR and his system in which he does NOT fit.

Maybe he will go to EMU. Down the street and his sister went there!

Ultimately I agree that it's probably going to be Forcier ...
But personally I would have more confident in Sheridan to start the year ... to win games. After going through a 3 win season in 2008, can RR afford to lose to Western Michigan in the opener? .... On the other hand Michigan has WMU, EMU and Indiana in the first 4 games ... maybe it would be smarter to let them get the experience with a young QB in those games opposed to stretch with Illinois, Wisc and OSU. So ... There's a few ways to look at it. I'd probably give Sheridan a shot vs. WMU and Notre Dame .... if he stinks it up ... Forcier can come in an have two "warm up" games against EMU and Indiana before going to East Lansing. |

BIGREDS89 wrote: Yep ... it was a matter of time. RR came in saying that he would tailor the offense to fit the talent at QB (likely to convince Mallet to stay) .... But I don't think he really did that for Threet .... I hope Threet does well wherever he goes ... I just didn't think he ever had a shot to succeed in Ann Arbor. |

He tried to tailor it the best he could, they started the season attempting more pass plays overall than what he was calling with Pat White at WVU, problem is
Threet just had a terrible time with accuracy and consistency.

I think RR goes with Forcier. Wouldn't you rather have a QB that RR recruited for his system rather than a walk-on who showed nothing last year and
doesn't fit the system. Look for the two Frosh to get all the reps leading up to the opener.

rumour is Threet may be headed down the road to EMU. Be interesting to see how he would compete for the job in 2010 with kyle mcmahon who has looked good at
times. Looks like EMU is going with the mini UofM route by hiring english and now grabbing players. Should be a interesting game come this year heres hoping
for a eagle historic upset!!!!!
