Inkster scheduling problem (lots of big new for Inkster followers) |
Lead | ||
|
According to Tom Markowksi's statechamps.tv show, Inkster had two football games scheduled as of January 17th. I hope that Carter is looking for some out
of state opponents to play as well since Toledo is closer than the Grand Rapids area.

I have a feeling the Mega outcasts that never got involved with the new leagues are going to have some trouble getting games at first....
But with the recent success Inkster will probably have the most difficulties. ... .. not to mention that it seems like some schools are not big fans of the way kids have been attracted to Inkster from other area schools. Gotta get on the horn with Independents like Country Day and Saginaw Nouvel ... as well as some CHSL teams looking to fill dates .... then I suppose to Toledo schools.
Interested in where MHSAA players will be playing at the next level and/or college football in
general?

My dream schedule for Inkster:
Week 1 - Ann Arbor Pioneer Week 2 - East Kentwood Week 3 - Saginaw Nouvel Week 4 - River Rouge (obligatory cupcake) Week 5 - Highland Park Week 6 - Detroit Country Day Week 7 - Flint Northwestern Week 8 - Adrian Week 9 - Romulus These are either on the schedule (Weeks 1, 2, 5) or filled using teams that have open dates according to michigan-football.com |

With AAP,EK, and HP on their schedule..There are teams out there...Im sure one of these teams will be their last game of the year..Robishaud, Romulus,
Belleville or Crestwood as they all have open dates for the last week of the year..A 3rd week game of Warren De Lasalle as they have an opening...They could
schedule Country Day as they have openings.

DLS/Inkster would be a great matchup and I hope the AD's and coaches at both schools can make it happen. It would be like the ND/FSU matchup's of old, catholics vs criminals (just joking Ink fans, just using an old metaphor). Just curious who people would consider to be the favorite if this matchup were to take place? I would go with DLS but they did lose alot and it would not suprise me if Inkster pulled the upset especially early in the season. |

I don't think it would be considered an upset if Inkster beat DLS.

Both teams have been in the state finals 2 out of the last 3 seasons but DLS has done it in a much tougher league and playoff division. Gardner is a great QB and Inkster always has some high profile transfers but I would take DLS to win. Inkster seemed to struggle early in the season last year with a close win over a 3-6 ZW team and a loss to 5-4 HP. Could it be that it takes Inkster more time to come together as a team when they are working in as many tranfers as they do? Either way I think the DLS Dline would control the LOS and the ball control offense of DLS would grind out enough points for a W. It would be an upset to me if Inkster won, a mild upset but an upset considering I would take DLS in that game. Inkster still has never taken down a legit D1/D2 program and that would be a huge step for them if they could accomplish it. Carter has still not had his signature win YET at Inkster, he had his chance with EGR this year but they came up way short in the second half and EGR rolled to a 19 point win. Until I see Inkster do against the better programs in the state it's hard for me to take them against a DLS,CC,Rice,Dakota,Rockford,Muskegon etc.

I might take DLS to win that game .... it would be a tough pick for sure.
Its just based on the general criteria used for the term 'upset' ... (rankings and such) ....Inkster over DLS probably wouldn't apply. |

Inkster vs DLS | #8 | ||
TOMMYZ wrote: With all the transfers Inkster has added to support Gardner, I would have to pick them over DLS at this time. I do think it would be a good game, and I hope both schools do their best to schedule this game. I think we'll know more after watching Inkster vs Brother Rice in the 4-Way. |

I have not heard anything ..... do we know that Inkster has 'reloaded' through transfers again?

Prepseer is that confirmed that Inkster will be in the Rice 4 way this year. Last year they came out to Dakota and I was hoping to see Inkster again this year
although it sounds like that is not going to happen. Just curious who else would be out at Rice this year? With another good team or two that will be a very
competitive afternoon. I'm sure Warren Mott and Finney will be at Dakota again but it sounds like G will need to find another quality team otherwise they
would probably get better work just going live 1st O vs 1st D in practice.

Inkster Transfers | #12 | ||
Searn wrote:I heard that two good players (don't know names) from Oak Park transferred to Inkster. I also heard that there have been several others, but can't confirm prior schools. Without specific names and schools, you could consider these all rumors. However, my source was pretty good on the Oak Park kids. I also heard that Inkster could be playing in Division 2 this year. |

Inkster got the Lindsey bros from Truman, both are RB/DB and good athletes.
If Inkster is going to schedule anyone for week nine it should be their main rival Robichaud, and would probably have revenge on their minds for ratting them out in 07. |

Word has it Inkster will travel to Ohio to play the Big Reds of Steubenville ..... I'm not sure which week this game will be... nor can I confirm it.
Steubenville was (14-1) last season and lost in Ohio's DIV title game. Steubenville has a dual-threat QB (Dwight Macon) with an offer from Toledo ... after throwing for over 2,400 and rushing for 850 yards as a junior ... something tells me he'd be a big time prospect if he were 6-4 instead of 5-10. I'm sure that will be a tough one for Inkster ... especially having to travel to Ohio to play.

If Steubenville fills that stadium that will be a great atmosphere and experience for the kids from Inkster, probably something they would never experience in
MI especially for their home games. That stadium looks awesome, no track and grandstands behind the end zones, quite impressive. I just hope that it wasn't
built with federal tax dollars like Fawcett Stadium, that aside the stadium looks like a gem.

Steubenville is a very strong football community. They are die hard football fanatics over there and they have no problem filling that stadium. They have had
some strong years the last couple going undefeated from 2003 to currently in the regular season. They do have some tough competition in their schedules as
well. They have been state semi-finalists 3 out of the last 4 years. This will be a very highly entertaining game.

FNF is Steubenville D1 in Ohio? If they are D1 they sound like one of the better or as some would say "above average" or dare I say very good D1
teams in Ohio. If Inkster does win this game it would blow a huge hole in the credibility and theory of a certain poster who shall remain shameless... I mean
nameless

Thanks Searn. I guess it really is a different breed if a D4 school in Ohio has those types of facilities and attendance. Sounds like this will be a more winnable game than I first thought, Inkster should be a top 10 D2 team next year IMO. |
