They do face teams that are Div 1 and 2 in their schedules. They beat Columbus Bishop Watterson this year 14-0, who De La Salle only beat 17-14 (mind you De La
Salle was losing 14-0 at one point). Anyone who can make the trek to this game, should at the least enjoy the atmosphere.

Sorry 67 ... I think this is a lose/lose for the Michigan cause in that whole discussion.
Even in Sville is a quality team .... If Inkster wins big ... they were supposed to If Inkster wins close, or loses .... one of our top D2 teams just struggled against and Ohio D4 team. I think it will be an excellent game .... Inkster might win big if it was a home game ... but traveling down to Ohio ... it could be tight. |

New info on the Inktown/Sville game ....
The game is Friday, Oct 23, 7pm Sville currently has a 55 game home winning streak at their field nicknamed "Death Valley" ... the streak goes back to 2002. More info on the stadium http://www.rollredroll.com/ *Construction approved by BOE in 1928, started in 1929 & completed in 1930. The fire breathing horse on the scoreboard is pretty cool ...

This was posted on yappi back in December on a St. Ignatius schedule topic...
Latest G2 I have: The Wildcats are trying to sign up a few games with Inkster High School of Michigan, in the Detroit area. They would like to arrange a game for Week 8 this coming season to give the Wildcats a full 10 game schedule, and then sign Inkster for a few more years. |

Not much info ... but a quote from a guy from Ohio on Steubenville's team for 09
They were a very young team last year. On paper, they should lay waste to D3 or D4, wherever they end up. |

HI guys, i found this site looking for info on Inkster. I'm from Steubenville so i could shed some light on the Big Red for you. Big Red will be competing
in Div.4 this year. It will be their second year in Div.4. They won back to back Div.3 State Titles in Div.3 in 05,06. Winning 30 consecutive games. They lost
in the regional finals in Div.4 in 07 to nationally ranked Youngstown Cardinal Mooney snapping a 43 game winning streak. Last year they finished runner-up in
Div.4. Currently they have a 60 game regular season win streak. To be honest i can't remember the last time they lost at home, i'd have to look it up.
They may be div.4 but they aren't your normal Div.4 football program. Big Red can play up 2 divisions and more than hold their own. They lost some talent
from last years team, linebacker/fullback Branko Busick (6"1 230) who signed with West Virginia as a Linbacker and some other geat players ,but they are
loaded again this year. Most expect them to be better this year. From what i've read on Inkster they appear to be a formidable football team. They look
loaded. This game should be interesting. If you guys want to join in on this topic or start one log on to JJhuddle.com, go to North forum. You can't miss
all the Steubenville Big Red topics. They rule the Huddle. lol

Thanks for the info crew ...
I have not visited jjhuddle in a while ... Inkster should have nice team in 2008. After visiting rollredroll.com and checking out the history and viewing some of the stuff from the stadium ... this would be a great game to attend in person. Inkster was our D3 runner up in 2008 with an enrollment of about 950 ... but are rumored to be larger going into 2009 and should end up in our D2. |

I'm from Big Red (Steubenville), and am looking forward to the Inkster matchup. From what I've read and saw, they remind me of a Cleveland Glenville
type team, with athletes all over the field.
I run the www.rollredroll.com website and would be happy to answer any questions. RRR

How are your division breakdowns? I'm wondering what Inkster will translate to Ohio standards?
We go by the boys count of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. The D1 cutoff is usually just above 500. Big Red was D4 during the last count (after 2006), but might be back to D3 this year. We have around 260 boys..which is right at the D3-D4 cutoff. |

manowar wrote: Very cool team site! We simply go by the overall school enrollment in Michigan, so it's hard to say exactly what the boys count would be. (enrollments for all-male schools are doubled for classification purposes) Inkster's enrollment is rumored to be close to 1,200 for 2009... so I suppose that could be D1 by Ohio's standards assuming Inkster is close to 50/50 male/female. This would put them in D2 in Michigan .... D1 seems to be 1,650+ most years. |

Hmm...could be borderline D1 or D2...I really don't know how they get the out of state numbers, since ours are determined for the next 2 years by counting
this past September.

Our division and region assignments should come out in late April to early May. It is a big deal here because your playoff fate depends on computer rankings,
which are determined by your defeated opponents' enrollment numbers.

Hmm...could be borderline D1 or D2...I really don't know how they get the out of state numbers, since ours are determined for the next 2 years by counting this past September. Our MHSAA calls up reasonable close by states schools every year for their SEN on the same day that they do the Michigan schools. This way our MHSAA gets accurate information for out of state schools. One year though we (those of us on here)/I changed around 5 - 6 out of state school classifications based on what was on the websites though. If I had my way the MHSAA would be caught not doing some states since I proved that we can play more states than people think on here. The typical female to male ratio is 53% - 47% which would make it 564 males at Inkster if the quoted 1200 figure is an exact match when the MHSAA posts the numbers. This is an average of the fall count plus the February count. Clarkston has more males than females so it doesn't always work out that way on the ratio in a particular school. For MHSAA purposes it sounded like Inkster will be a solid D2 team this fall provided that our earlier article is accurate on the potential count.

Ok, I forgot about the 9-11th deal ... .
Our's are based on 9th-12th .... So Inkster might end up as a D2 in Ohio I suspect using 9th-11th |

ftballer67 wrote: I think it's very safe to say that the area has made that money back because of the stadium. The first pre season NFL game has been played there since 1971, and the Ohio finals are played there. That's a lot of money that's been dumped into the local economy there. Plus it was built by the WPA, and that put a lot of people to work during the depression. I understand your point, but I think the community has got more out of it than what was put into it. |

High school football tickets were $1 or something along those lines for adults back when I was younger. For students, it was half price. I would have to run the financial numbers, but until the NFL played their preseason game, I would hazard a guess that the stadium actually lost money. |

Inkster has roughly 450 boys 9-11, placing them in the upper 1/2 of D2 in Ohio.
