Watching the 'NFL Draft Online Streaming' on line - as it is such a lovely day outside - and at least no one is dumping on the Lions. Gruden & crew are now talking up the Eagles. Pretty good entertainment. No one is saying much of anything about the Lions… about 20 more picks until we see if the Lions can strengthen the front lines. |

coach, i know. but my whole thing is that on the top level of TE in the NFL are Gonzalez, Winslow, and Gates, who are all playmakers and are arguably the top
three. Miller i would say isn't a playmaker, all he does is make the catches he needs to and has some decent blocks. My problem is that you can win without
a great TE, but you can't win without a Defense.

It has been a long time since Lions had a TE of note. Don't think Pettigrew can develop into another Charlie Sanders, but all the references to him put him into the Winslow class - and I'll bet they are talking the recent Winslow. Certainly he can help the Lions offense, both as a blocker and safety valve/red zone target. |

Not that I even watch that much NFL football anymore because I think the game has gotten pretty boring and vanilla, but I guess maybe its time to become a
Bears fan

Pettigrew is slow, so separation will be very scarce. I guess alot of the hype is that he is a great blocker and that is why the Lions drafted him. When he is
open, he will hardly drop the pass, but don't look for him to be able to out jump a defender in the red zone. He is nothing more than a tackle that has
hands. Dont look for him to be a play maker, but will improve the running game which was one of the objectives going into the draft.
