I was pretty young when this game took place, so I don't remember this incident..... I can't believe the refs took an official time out because the visiting team couldn't hear their signals ... Isn't that what home team advantage is all about?�� I've never personally seen a game where they did this ... anyone? All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 6599 05/02/09 3:39 PM MHSAA Football Stats	I'm not going to google it, but a team got penalized for too much crowd noise on TV. I forget which year the NCAA put in the "crowd noise" rule, but there was one in existence.

Freshmen Unranked Walkon Posts: 3 05/02/09 6:59 PM	Michigan pulled this same pu$$y move in their 1993 game at Penn State (I was at this game). The refs announced that the crowd needed to quiet down, or else a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty would be assessed. The "urban legend" I've heard is that Bo, who was at the game, called down to Moeller on the sidelines to agitate for the penalty. I'm not going to rip Michigan as I don't know the specifics of the case ... but aside from pumping noise out of the speakers .... I think it's BS to ask a crowd to quiet down .... If you want to complain over the noise rule, then let's complain about the high school football rule of defense automatic offside rule, which isn't the rule at the collegiate or the pro level. I'll gladly accept a few stupid on field rules to get rid of a rule that prevents fans cheering for their team.
