Or there's the easier road ... going after Chadsey's opponents ...

update.......WOW is all I can say....
I just noticed today on www.highschoolsports.net, that Muskegon Catholic Central has dropped it's scheduled game vs. New Lenox (IL) Lincoln-Way West, and has now scheduled to host Inkster on Sat. Oct. 10th. If this game is a go, then M.C.C. might be in for an eye opener. It also points out that the Vikings are still looking to fill their schedule. If this game is true, then the M.C.C./Lincoln-Way West game must have been a verbal agreement only, and no signed contract. |

Does Inkster have any home games this year?

I guess the benefit would be to actually be able to play a game that week ... I hope they exhausted all other options before signing that one.
I know Carter liked to travel out and play road games at DePorres to let his kids play in some other areas ... . such as playing Lumen Christi @ Lumen every year. ... but this is pretty crazy. |

TOMMYZ wrote:It may not help Inkster with playoff points, but they need to get into the playoffs and a win, even over a Class D team, will help. Inkster should be good, as long as they bring in a number of transfers, which I assume they will. But don't count out MCC. They will give Inkster a good game. It all comes down to the quality of transfers. I know they got a couple good ones from Oak Park. If Chadsey closes, that could bring in some talent. Gardner will need a strong supporting cast to be able to make the playoffs with their schedule. |

Inkster Schedule | #88 | ||
|
While I admire Carter for the schedule he has put together, I think he has gone too far and I'm afraid Inkster will not make the playoffs this year. The
Ohio road games will take their toll. The travel. The quality of opponents. The officials. I will be amazed if they can win one of those games. I think
they will handle Ann Arbor Pioneer, East Kentwood, Highland Park and Muskegon CC. But, four wins won't get the Vikings in the playoffs. The best chance
for an Ohio road win will be at Stubenville. That would be the fifth win needed for a shot at the playoffs (automatic with 8 game schedule, at large with 9
game schedule).

We'll eventually see what is right since on the highschoolsportsnet website it also says Bay City Central is playing Inkster that particular week as well.

Check this link out though as it says Bay City Central instead of Muskegon CC is playing Inkster:
http://www.highschoolsports.net/defaultcal.cfm?schoolid=MI487089135&spt=4&lvl=1&division=1&ct=s&year=2009 Did something happen with Flint Northern? Flint Northern is listed on the schedule above following the Inkster game. Bay City Central is playing Inkster the week of the Flint Central game. I guess that the MHSAA didn't grant the waiver after all.

I should point out that if the MHSAA grants another mileage waiver, then I am finished with Michigan high school football. They should change the mileage rule
before another waiver is granted if they (the MHSAA) intend to grant waivers in the future. Schools can always schedule the venue in between to find a game. So
there is no need to grant these types of waivers since we can play a ton of states in neutral territory. That's why I was so upset yesterday when KleShreen
mentioned a waiver being granted.

I guess that Searn was right, Inkster is playing Bay City Central 10/2 so the schedule becomes:
8/28 Ann Arbor Pioneer 9/4 @ East Kentwood 9/11 open date 9/18 @ Lakewood St. Edward 9/25 Highland Park 10/2 @ Bay City Central 10/10 @ Muskegon Catholic Central 10/16 @ Cleveland St. Ignatius 10/23 @ Steubenville So one more week to fill. |

Hilliard Davidson has a 9/11 opening on the OHSAA website to complete the schedule:
http://www.ohsaa.org/members/opendts.htm#2009 Does OLSM still have a week 3 opening as that would save some travel costs?

Just curious ....
Do we know if the Pioneer and Highland Park games are home or away? Once this schedule gets completed it will be interesting to see what the total season travel comes to. |

Here is the schedule on the MHSAA website:
http://www.mhsaa.net/football/schedule.aspx?id=3697 Highland Park is away based on the link. Ann Arbor Pioneer game is at EMU so it's a neutral field game. |

I don't know why but I walked over to Mr. Porritt's house tonight and left word that Inkster has the same open date as the Eaglets. So we'll see if
that game takes place.

Week 3 | #99 | ||
|
Inkster vs OLSM in Week 3 makes so much sense, I can't believe it's not happening. Inkster has shown no fear in its scheduling. I assume the
stumbling block is George Porritt. I don't think OLSM wants to miss the playoffs two years in a row. I would love to see a matchup between Gardner and
Bolden.
