Detroit University Prep (1-0) @ Hamtramck (1-0) - It is hard to pick a team to lose after they won 40something to nothing. But I think Preps RB will drive the
football and eat up some clock here. The defense is aggresive and I do not think Hamtramck can stay with Prep on this one. Prep 28-7
Clarenceville (0-1) @ Cranbrook (0-1) - I see an improved Clarenceville team come out this week. Last week was just ugly football. Some adjustments have been made and I do believe that the Trojans will look more like last years team. Cranbrook is living on running the option this year, I just think they need a couple more years in that system until they really get it going. I pick C'ville here. Clarenceville 35-7 Harper Woods Chander (1-0 ) @ Harper Woods (1-0) - Seems like Coach Filbers Triple Option is working. This game is not until Friday night, so I will be there to personally watch it. Not tough competition for the first to games for the Woods, so I expect this one to be ugly. Harper Woods 42-0. Lutheran North (0-1) @ Millington (1-0) - I give North credit for scheduling tough teams, just this wasn't the year to do it. Between Yale, Millington, and Flint Powers next week. I just hope they can make it out of these games healthy for Conference competition. Millington 48-14. |

Whats going on in the Metro???
C'Ville loses to U Prep and Hamtramck beats U Prep > So will Hamtramck beat C"Ville? Clarenceville schedule is brutal now for them they might only win 2 or 3 games - thats sad coming off a 9 win season! The better try to get in that MIAC with Westland and Northwest. Harper laid a egg against powerhouse CPA - thats not good! We all knew Cranbrook would be bad but they managed to beat C'Ville. Has North gotten worse from last year - next week should tell. It looks like the new head coach at Hamtramck has spilled new life and energy into that program which is about time > but they still can't be all that good. It might be a good thing that this is the last year for the Metro Conference so they don't embarrass themselves anymore and put this bad football to rest !

Hey guy...Its pretty obvious that you either dont go to these games or base your picks on guessing. You must be one of those computer geeks that couldn't
make jv as a senior so you decided this is the only way you can "get in the game". Your constant and annoying disrespect of the metro conference
affirms my beliefs. Clarenceville is a good program that lost two close ballgames. Uprep and Hamtramck are significantly better with damn good coaches and
schemes. Harper Woods is always a formittable foe, and Cranbrook just got a new staff and are implementing there system quite well.North opened with two
powerhouse teams. So do us all a favor and go ask mom for some lunch money and come to a game before you jot another wack ass post. ...nerd

Who is this clown?
Prep has a good scheme??? Really? North has been playing powerhouses? Stick to the MLive forums until you have even a vague idea what you're talking about. |

Ive been to more Metro games than you ever will son. And I have seen all these teams play for years. There is no disrespect just saying its a really bad
year for the Metro teams except for Hamtramck.
Clarenceville has the toughest schedule Divine Child, Annapolis and Birch Run > and props to them but they should of won their first to
games easy! They may only beat Lutheran North and Hamtramck now! (2-7)

Just because you type, highlight and space still doesn't mean you know what the hell you're talking about. But I tell you what "Mr. Computer Geek" you make some interesting points. What you fail to realize is that this conference like this sport is unpredictable, and the parity from top to bottom is well spread. How else do you explain a team like Hamtramck scoring 40plus points 2 games in a row. Or Cranbrook squeaking by Clarenceville on a last second FG? So hey cable guy, keep posting and maybe somebody will actually believe in you. |

Okay, the two teams you called powerhouses are average, well run programs. Yale has been to the second round of the playoffs ONCE in its exsistence, and only
three years ago was 1 - 8.
Millington has been between 6 and 9 wins for the last ten years. These are not powerhouses ... powerhouses are teams like Rockford (3 state championships in last 5 years) or East Grand Rapids (won 5 of last 7 state championships). If Yale and Millington are powerhouses, I don't know what you call teams that actually challenge for state titles. Also, University Prep plays the most simple and basic schemes and typically have not adjusted well to things their opponents try to do ... It's a down year for the Metro, and you don't seem to have a lot of anything to back up your opinion ... like I said, back to MLive until you get a clue ... |

Cranbrook plays five Class B schools (Clarenceville, Hamtramck, Lutheran North, Old Redford, University Prep) and four Class C schools (Harper Woods, Loyola,
Shrine, Southfield Christian).
Another big shocker besides Hamtramck being 2-0 is that Ecorse is 2-0, their first two on-field wins since 2007. Three of their four wins from 2006-08 came via forfeit (Robifraud in 2006 and 2008 and Inkster in 2007; they beat River Rouge on the scoreboard in 2007). The last time Ecorse won their first two games was all the way back in 1972. |

You are right I checked Clarenceville (606) Old Redford (610) U Prep (517) and North (623) are all Class B teams and if you want to include Hamtramck (826) as
well. Harper (444) and Shrine (312) are Class C and Southfield Christian (215) is Class D.
Crannbrook also has 771 Students stil making it the largest school on their schedule > unless you include Ham-town! Ecorse shut out a Michigan Collegiate team that was supposed to be good and could possible win 3 or 4 more games on their schedule and make the playoffs! |
