I addressed this last year. I would like to see Clintondale and MC move up into the Blue and have Fraser and Sterling Heights move to the Gold. Both should still be allowed to keep their rivalry games (MC vs Marysville and MC vs SC), but it would allow each of them to also have a non-conference game against a MAC Red or MAC White team.

On the other hand, that really penalizes MC and Clintondale for being good programs. You could overnight see both teams going .500 against schools 2-3 times their size while a Sterling Heishts would suddenly be a playoff team and get killed in Round 1.

I guess I just wanna see a crossover game between MC and a better Class A team. Even if it's a Macomb Dakota and they get killed...I'd like to see more of a challenge than Sterling Heights or Fraser.

Okay, I'm only going re-allign Blue through Bronze:

MAD White would gain Port Huron and Anchor Bay would drop to the Blue.

MAC BLUE:
Roseville
Marine City
Sterling Heights
Grosse Pointe South
Port Huron Northern
New Baltimore Anchor Bay

I didn't want to bump up the Mariners, but I think they've dominated the Gold enough to at least make a case that perhaps they should test the waters. Granted they probably can't run the table against those bigger schools, but I think a winning season and playoff berth is certainly still possible. I'd like to see MC play an out of conference schedule that includes SC, Clintondale, and Marysville.

Fraser moves down because they are horrid. I wanted Madison to move up, but Lakeshore has looked just as good and are twice the size so they get the nod. Bumping MC out, and with Clintondale falling...the Gold become up for grabs and very interesting.

Marysville
St. Clair Shores Lakeview
Clawson
L'Anse Creuse
Madison Heights Madison

L'Anse Creuse comes down from the Gold and Clawson comes up from the Bronze. It'd been nice to bump up a Madison, Lakeview, or Marysville, but just not possible given the numbers. This could make the Silver nearly as strong as the Gold given so many schools on the rise.

MAC Bronze:
Warren Lincoln
Mt. Clemens
New Haven
St. Clair Shores South Lake
Centerline
Madison Heights Lamphere

Clawson has had 3 straight winning seasons so they get bumped up. Lamphere has to stay. Centerline comes down from the Silver. The Bronze will remain a worthless league, with Lamphere leading the way unless Lincoln or Centerline can develop into something.

Sorry. Completely disagree. My alignment would go strictly by enrollment. Hire a good AD or make the AD hire a good coach. There is no reason LC , with its 1800 students, should be in the silver. They should be in the Blue, playing teams with similar enrollment. Enrollment based with maybe a one division adjustment if 3 consecutive years under a .300 winning percentage. Ex: If ED has three years of losing, maybe they go to the gold for a couple but there is no way in he!! they should go down to the silver and bronze. One division sliding scale.

I have trouble arguing with you. Using my sytem, I can easily see a school like MC going 5-4 or 4-5 and not making the playoffs while the 3 out of conference teams they play go 8-1 or 7-2 and get in. That would be tragic. But...if MC goes 3-3 in the MAC Blue and 2-1 out of conference...I really think they would have the playoff multiplier to get in. Because each game they play will be against either a larger class A school or a solid Class B winning school.

Where the trouble comes in, is if MC goes 2-4 and 2-1. Now they're sitting at 4-5 and I don't think I've ever seen a 4-5 team make it in...despite strength of schedule.

It's not perfect...and if I were the athletic director for MC...I'd not want it. But, as a fan, I'd like to see it. I'd like to see that little school walk around with the big boys while keeping their rivalries in tact. Because if they (MC) don't do this...I think they are heading down the path towards dropping Marysville and St. Clair from their schedule to play the likes of Melvindale and Lansing Sexton which means those old, long-standing rivalries just get pushed aside.
