I am planning on contacting the argo's foundation as they kick started 4 teams this year (in Toronto mind you) with all the necessary equipment. That is a great idea about the argo's sponsors as it already show they have some sort of interest.! While i am in the downtown core I might as well go to a game!

I am starting to prioritize my attack plan, and everyone's suggestions are great!

East Guru- I have no doubt that the school has enough people interested (student body of 1700 kids), I will be following the steps of getting the funding through the school board, but meanwhile I plan to be asking corporations under the worst case scenario the board will deny funding.

Mr NCAA:

I am planning on contacting a few coaches from surrounding schools with established programs as to what the necessities are, but want to have a good idea of what questions to ask.

Anyway do you mind responding to my responses on your pointers, to make sure I am thinking things through

Here is my basic list:
1. footballl field and layed out correctly according to Canadian rules

We have proper football posts already installed (originally with the school), I will go out and measure the field for dimensions it is currently used for Soccer, Rugby and Field Hockey.

2. scoreboard

We have a small portable scoreboard that will have to do (money wise)

3. players jerseys, pads, etc.

What equipent will, I need how much of it and how much is it going to cost?

4. grandstands - might want to determine what the local attendance is nearby and add 50% or so more for a big game

Can I worry about spectators for Year 2? Football is not as big here as it is in the United States, the field is fenced in and surrounded by a 400M track, So I am thinking people could just surround the outside of the fence, until something else is concocted?

5. press boxes with lights and lots of electrical outlets

I dont think that would be possible in the foreseeable future....

9. buy video recorder and vcr so you can scout teams

definitely possible

11. locker rooms for both teams plus a room for the officials

Yes we have two locker rooms in each of the two gyms

12. equipment room with the locker rooms

Already have plenty of storage

13. concession stand with restrooms

restrooms are located nearby (100m from field)

concession stand is a good idea

14. lights = 5 on both sides = Canadian field is bigger than U. S. so I am recommending 5

I am somewhat sure all of the games in the league are played in the afternoon, I think this is too expensive for a start-up team. What do you guys think?


Money is the issue here, how much would it be for just the necessary equipment to get the team on the field? (I am totally aware the team will suck for the first few season as well)
