Dallas, Why don't you call in some markers (i.e.info from some olsm friends) and give us a nice little start on this topic for the week? Players to watch.
Tendencies. History of the rivalry.

well, i'd be lying if i told you i knew a lot about this team. but from what i've heard, bolden finally looked like a big ten QB in the win over DLS,
and after an easy 35-0 win over UD (potential trap game, after a big victory and before a huge game), i assume it sounded to me like he lacked pocket presence,
but that part of his game has been improved. it sounds like hunter is a playmaker and needs the ball in his hands. and i know before the season started, coach
porritt loved his offensive line, thinking it was one of the best he's had, but up to this point they haven't performed like one would hope. they need
to step it up this week, because in order to beat CC any year, you must have great line play. so for a "player(s) to watch," i'd say the
offensive line will be the difference in this game. i'm not sure if the location of the game will matter since olsm is 1-1 at CC's new field. and
although it is called the boys bowl, and it'll have the atmosphere of the boys bowl, but it's not. everyone knows the boys bowl belongs to CC and Rice.
but i'm sure the game will still be very hyped up, especially with CC having more to lose and OLSM having their backs against the wall, not wanting to go
down 2-3 with an 8 game schedule.
i said before the season starts that olsm will win (at least) a share of the CL title, and if they shared it, the team wouldn't be CC. in order for that to happen, o-lake needs to win on sunday, and i think they will in a battle of defenses. OLSM wins 13-7. |

I remember watching Bolden play CC last year, and being very impressed. I thought he was better than Devin G. I am sure he is much improved this year. CC will
have to keep a spy on him at all times which can open up the passing game.
Judging by the number of point OLSM's defense has given up this year I expect CC to score some points. CC knows they played a very sloppy game against DC and that they will have to step up to win against OLSM. Final Score CC 24 - OLSM 7 From the beginning of the season I have been very optimistic that CC would win the CHSL, go deep into the state playoffs, and possibly win a state title. I am questioning my original thoughts after the game against DC. They had something like 5 personal fouls called on them. They had two fumbles. That being said..... There defense was still incredibly strong, coming up with big plays when necessary. They had two safeties in the first half. DC only scored a touchdown late in the game without starters in. I guess the personal fouls just bothered me a lot. If they do that against a better team, they will lose every time. My guess is that they are punished and remember not to play that way again. |

I was very impressed with CC's defense on Saturday....... CC sloppy on "O"- maybe- but I think the opponent had something to do with that... I am
probably bised in that regard because my son plays for DC..... CC's "D" is as advertised... I came in very impressed with their DL and left
equally impressed with their secondary...... I can't comment on their LB's because they weren't touched although I know they're good...... as
far as discipline- I know that there's some bad blood between some of the kids but that stuff happens in heated situations.... I'm sure that CC's
coaches will take care of that stuff in short order
I guess that I'm kind of suprised at people's reactions that a team like DC plays hard/hits, etc...... while CC- and I'm an alum- has an outstanding tradition and is a big school with great #'s- they don't own the market on kids that work hard/hit hard/play hard- they just have more of them I hope they do well from here on out- I know lots of kids on their team and have coached a few of them in the grade school ranks and I wish them success in their run for a CL and state championship |

coach d,
I think the comments regarding the DC players are not as much a "reaction' as they are giving credit where credit is due. DC players have never been "shy" in the physical aspect of the game and when you add in Massereng and that though nosed, Gallagher lineage, it is no surprise that the DC boys layed it all out on the field. They will be a tough out in the D4 playoffs. |

congrats on the "A" title........ those 2 kids (7;29) are really good and the 3rd kid (77) is a nice player as well........ Anthony is looking
forward to competing against them on Saturday- albiet- not at 100% but good enough to get on the field

Thnnks Dallas.
If what you suggest holds true about the Eaglet line play not being up to par, that will bode ill for GP and the kids. CC's line play is very good this year. On the other hand CC has to defend against the big play. A close game should favor your alma mater with their big strike capability via the pass. That said, and CC has big play capability on the ground and yes even through the air. Duraney TE is good and gets open. Jakubik is a player too. I gotta believe Mach has aired it out as much this year than compared to any other years in recent memory. Perhaps the old timers here can verify that? I wish I had seen the Eaglets game against DLS. The Pilots are supposed to have a big physical line this year - this according to BigDVI who doesn't post anymore. But it would have provided a reference for Sunday's game. If CC puts the ball on the ground, or takes dumb penalties as they did against DDC, then OLSM may hurt them for it. Frankly I'm guessing Coach Dudas etc expressed their dissatisfaction and gave the fellas an extra day of 'gassers.' As such I think CC will play more disciplined ball....they better. Expecting that, I think CC could win a fairly low scoring affair, on the order of 17-10 or 20 - 10. Coach TomD, I sure I hope I did not come off as slighting the Falcons. Some teams really pop CC and others don't. In fact, I will go out on a limb and say that most don't. I was pleased to see DDC do that, even though they gave up a lot of size. btw. I heard your son's name called out in the game. Good times for you. Good luck in the POs. You know we will be rooting for you. |

CC had a pretty good football site a few years back ... well ... maybe not that great ... but it used to have player and team stats throughout the season.

Searn, I don't know if you now follow or ever did follow HS hockey. But perhaps two years (maybe three) CC ran a very nice website for their team. It was
not glitzy but contained almost all of the pertinent hockey stats of each of the players.
So we know it can be done. How can that school, with its legacy, all its traditions, have such a less than inadequate team website? |

well that's why i'm saying in order to win, OLSM's line HAS to play as well as GP thinks they can, otherwise who knows what direction this game
will go.
i think an underlying factor is that this game is a lot bigger for olsm, because despite their slow start, if they win this game, they are guaranteed a share of the CL title. don't think that GP hasn't been hammering that idea home to his team. should be a good one. wish i could be there. still holdin onto 13-7 OLSM. |

on Sunday- even though he got to go with his grandfather and watch the Leo's finally win a game!!!!!..... he did say that it was the hardest hitting game
that he's ever played in..... CC is very good- best team that I've seen from them in some time... they might be the fastest defense that I've ever
seen in terms of closing on the ball... I plan on being at my first Boys Bowl in a long time on Sunday... not quite the same as the Rice days but that's
more of me getting old
The league appears to be a little better this season but only the playoffs will tell if that's the case or not I haven't seen OLSM play but they better be sound up front....... CC doesn't have to blitz to get pressure and that's a huge advantage- especially when facing a moblie QB like Bolden....... I've heard that OLSM struggled early in the season because their OL wasn't playing particulalry well but I've also heard that they've been improving each week....... CC looks like they're on a mission and they have the horses to go with it |

I'm hoping for a good game. Rip and I will be in attendance. OLSM seems to have some momentum right now, and they have played a heck of a schedule.
I still expect a CC victory, but I think this game will be much closer than anyone would have thought a few weeks back. I can't wait to see CC's new facility in person. This will be my first CC game(other than Dak/CC semi's) since the 99 Prep Bowl vs Rice.

A warm welcome to the both of you. If you get there early and have a chance (and it is open) take a quick tour of the school. The athletic wing is very nice
with all of the silk screened pictures on the walls - of past champions and individual honorees.

good luck in the playoffs......... you guys have the only shot at Regis....... Anthony told me that 29 was a tough kid (I saw him walk in and I said to
myself- that's Spike from "Little Giants!") and liked 54- good/tough kid... nice, balanced team- good team speed.... we lost another one
yesterday with a broken arm in 2 spots....... I've never ever seen anything like this..... bless our kids- I'm pretty proud of their effort despite
being held together by gum and rubber bands this season.......... geat lessons for the boys to never take anything/anyday/any play for granted as it could be
your last (good one for me too!)

Bless your kids, is right. Whatever the situation, the kids that did play the game played hard for 4 quarters and that is a testament to their collective
heart.
Anthony throws a very nice ball and sees the field very well. He will do well at the next level. You can definately tell that he is coaches son!! I will pass the compliments along to the boys. I am very glad to hear that about 54. That was his first game ever at the Nose position, as our starting Nose was injured. 54 had previously been playing SAM backer. I think he will very glad to hear what an opposing coach had to say about his play. |
