I was happily surprised to see that half of Mendon seemed to make the 2 hr drive - props to all of them too. Hopefully next season will see Mendon in a league that makes more sense. Thanks to Willow Run for the hospitality and the sausages!

I have to give props to the Ypsilanti Willow Run announcer last Friday night. I'm not sure if he's the regular or not, but this guy was a crack-up!
Mendon dominated the entire game (41-0), but this guy was upbeat and positive, giving his own color commentary along the way and trying to get the 40-50 people
in the home stands into the game. For myself who is used to deadpan delivery or one-sided enthusiasm from announcers, the man was a breath of fresh air. Keep
up the good work! As I was sitting on the packed visitors bleachers, a rumor went by that at the half, we would be "taking over" the home side - no
such coup was attempted however.

I agree with you on this, actually, I went to their Forum and commented basically this same thing. He was a riot and had the Mendon fans cheering and was a
pleasure to listen to. Mendon always has a good following and many times as away games, have more fans than the home team. We love our football.
We are all crossing our fingers for a better schedule next year. |
