The Hornets should roll again and will then more than likely be looking for a new conference in 2010.

Go Hornets! How does the new conference thing work? Like dumping an old girlfriend and hittin' on a new one? Is there "wooing" involved?

Mendon and new league... | #3 | ||
|
The question was asked...."is there wooing involved?" Mendon has trouble finding schools to play them for one game in an open week, and finding a
conference that is willing to play them year in and year out with their past success is extremely tough. Problem for Mendon is, with the lack of competition
since the SJV broke up, they won't be so battle tested when the playoffs come. This will really start to be a problem in a couple of years when the kids
coming up have NEVER had that competition during the regular season. This is probably the last group of kids who really know what its like to play a tough
schedule during the regular season (there were several sophomores playing on varsity the last real year of the SJV). SO, I would say yes, there will be
considerable 'wooing' to get a new conference to take them.

yep, Mendon has gone across the state to get Ypsilanti Willow Run (I believe a B school) for the open game this year - good thing the price of gas is down!

I believe the "hope" is-the developement of the 8 man football (whether it is the right move or not for football) will leave openings in several
different leagues and they will have to look at adding teams to their schedules and they may be forced to take us on. The thing I DON'T understand, I would
think, as a coach you schedule a team like Mendon to help better your program. Use their program success to have a goal to STRIVE for. No, your not going to do
it over night it will take time, but use it as a motivator. As for the rest of our teams (BBall, Baseball etc) we are very average at best. Sometimes I just
don't understand the concept of not pushing yourselves or your to be THE VERY BEST!
