For discussion on teams chosen, click HERE NOTE: If I get a complete, reliable field of 256 based on predicted outcomes in week 9, I will post those maps later in the week. Edit: I have Addison in D7 instead of Merrill. I had to choose between Merrill and Indian River Inland Lakes. Chose to toss Merrill because they play a better team this week. All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7184 10/19/09 1:24 PM MHSAA Football Stats	It is all based on geography. It should be interesting to see how the OAA realigns their divisions next year when Oxford joins the league. Pontiac plays in the equivalent of OAA3 so they really haven't faced any real good teams yet. Their reward for going 8 - 1 or 7 - 2 should be getting bumbed up to one of the other divisions for next year.

A change in teams in one part of the state can effect pairings on the other side of the state. Last week's map had a natural north-south dividing line (from Cadillac to Jackson). East of that line, there are 16 teams. Those 16 teams can easily be split into two groups of 8. West of the line is a little trickier, but it all kind of falls into place. This week, the distribution of teams changed a little. The balance of teams has shifted. Now, I see an east-west dividing line that starts in Muskegon and goes due east. I'm not saying that I divide the state like that when coming up with regions or districts. In fact, I don't. But I hope it illustrates how you have to look at the pairings more state-wide rather than just locally. I had a better response (with pictures) but I got interrupted and lost my work (shame on me). All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7187 10/19/09 4:26 PM MHSAA Football Stats	The MHSAA will be putting down the crossovers on there probably tomorrow since that is what they did last week. The one problem that I have with the maps this week is that Concord Grapes was left off the list when they are getting a forfeit in week 9 so that should have put them on AuldSchool's list and your maps. So i will have to come up with a team to eliminate.

All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 7192 10/19/09 8:45 PM MHSAA Football Stats	I saw that someone questioned my suggestion of having Swartz Creek going west. Swartz Creek is around 8 miles closer to Midland while at the same time being 14 or so miles closer to Caledonia plus is closer to the Portages as well. So doing the MHSAA mileage reimbursement having Swartz Creek going west would save the MHSAA a few $$$. Based on the D2 map, 1 team will have to be chosen to go west first and Swartz Creek is my candidate for now based on what AuldSchool's projections were. If the map changes after week 9, it could be some other team, but for now that is how it looks like. A Linden poster gave Swartz Creek a 35% chance of making the playoffs last week. For the record the map changed in a couple of divisions so they wrecked my other suggestions last week, which I didn't post on here. This week D7 could posssibly be changing with Watervileit, White Pigeon, and Potterville moving to new districts. Last Edited By: Mr NCAA 10/19/09 9:02 PM. Edited 3 times.

Here is this weeks projections from AuldSchool, which didn't include Concord who will be receiving a week 9 forfeit.
