I have no use for Twitter for social graffiti. BUT, for HSF scores....this App, or thing, works really, really well. I love being able to glance at my phone during timeouts or quarter breaks and get scores from around the state of games that might be interesting. And I have used a smartphone and a regular phone to do it. Scrolling through a Twitter App or scrolling thru a Text Message window....works the same.

Snooze makes a point....you do need unlimited texting on a regular phone, or unlimited data on a smartphone. But if you have either, you can do this easily.

I did notice a lot of mdead posters tuning in and referring to BG's updates of CC v OLSM. Maybe this will spur others to join. Ultimately, this system of scoring updates is only gonna be as good as the level of participation. Right now, it's decent but there is still a lot of room to add reporters. For instance, I'd love to see scores from Escanaba v Cadillac this weekend. Personally, what I also like is when posters find the time to include a few observations about the team (O-Line size, WR speed, just their impressions). Gives me a little something I didn't know before.

So, to TOMMYZ, you could text a score to your twitter account each quarter where hundreds of people could then see it, or you could take phone calls from hundreds of people wanting an update (since your willing to do that).....what sounds easier? I'm not twisting your arm bud, just sayin'...

Help me out a little AGF. You're willing to text exchange scores with multiple people but not interested in texting to a twitter page where a hundred others can see the score? It's a free country, of course, but it makes me wonder if you know how the Twitter thing works.
You set up an account online and give yourself a username (like AGF). Then you text (from your phone) to AGF (yourself, kind of like an email account). The rest of us, if we choose to put your username in our own list of people we follow, will receive your score update.
For receiving: again online, you pick and choose which people (games) your interested in, put them in your "follow" list and every time they add a score, you'll receive a text message (on your phone) with the score. So, instead of trying to talk over a crowd at a ball game to several people or text messaging several people the same thing, you're doing it just once. And you can check other scores when you feel like it or not at all.

Sorry if you knew all this already but I sense a lot of misunderstanding about how this Twitter Scores thing works. Its' kinda like this message board. You could emaill each and every one of us a post on a topic (individually) when you had something to add or you can post it here for anyone who's interested to read. Same thing.

Again, don't need internet on your phone, but you do need text messaging capability.
