Dont laugh, I went with some long shots.....but heres mine: D1 SHS over Rockford D2 Muskegon over Inkster D3 EGR over Melvindale D4 Kingsford over Marine City D5 JLC over Menominee D6 Montague over MSMCC D7 Ravenna over Mendon D8 Muskegon Catholic over Lake Linden Hubbell

Senior Posts: 214 10/29/09 9:24 AM	D1 - I think Detroit Catholic Central's defense gets the job done D2 - Inkster - they deserve something for that schedule they just finished. D3 - EGR but I highly doubt Melvindale gets to the big game (OLSM ends the dream for the Cards). D4 - I know you're in love with Kingsford, but I think a team from the west takes it. I always overestimate someone from the west (last year Hamilton) while overlooking someone else from the west (last year Holland Christian) but my pick right now is GR West Catholic. D5 - Jackson Lumen Christi - this division is decided in round 3, I think, when JLC plays Madison. D6 - I reverse your Ford Field match up and take St. Mary's over Montague on the big stage. D7 - Did you just pick against Mendon? Are you aware that they did not win a state title last season, meaning they are due for a championship. My pick = the Hornets. D8 - I don't know about this one. I'll take your word on Muskegon CC, as I know they play a tough schedule and can't be judged solely on W-L.

All-Searn 2nd Team Posts: 1515 10/29/09 9:57 AM West Coast Mod	After I filled out my brackets, I felt as though I made some "Homer" picks. But when I went back to change them.... I didnt end up changing a thing...because I could see it happening (and I was out of time LOL). Kingsford is inconsistent on Offense which scares me but they have the Coaching and the tools to make a run. If they can make it through the Districts, which isnt easy, they would take on someone very tough in the Regional (GRCC, Hamilton, Three Rivers, Holland Christian, GRWC) Menominee is young this year and flat out shouldnt make the finals, but when the Single Wing is clicking it is hard for teams to defend. I'm thinking the Maroons have to get by hurdles Clare and Ovid Elsie..... which is doable. Inkster just seems to find a way to get there. Tough first round game though so we'll see....I didnt want to see Muskegon DLS again though. TCSF is the favorite in D7, and Hudson looks good. But I'd like to see a Ravenna Mendon matchup in the finals. Who can hang with MCC in D8? Climax, Fulton, Beal City? Should be some good games. And no offense CFFP but I'm ready to see someone else in the finals. LOL

Senior Posts: 387 10/29/09 10:19 AM	I'm probably gonna surprise a few with these picks but here goes: D1: Clarkston over DCC. I think the Wolves get it done as they kind of sneak up on all the Fav's D2: Lowell over Inkster. Ink has been playing well offensively but their defense is still not great. Against a ball control club like Lowell, they could have trouble. Weak field this year though in D2. A few good teams but not a lot of depth. D3: EGR over Dewitt - in a hard fought one. D4: GRWC over Marshall. Folks wrote Marshall off after the JLC debacle but I think they are still solid. D5: JLC over Ovid-Elsie. One RB not enough. D6: Montague over MSMCC. Kater won't be denied D7: Mendon over Saugatuck. Saugatuck is my sleeper team but experience prevails in the big one. D8: Climax-Scotts over Manistee Catholic Central. I just like the fact that Manistee is 7-1 with only 58 boys in the whole High School 9-12!!! Incredible!!!!!!!!!!

D2: Lowell over Inkster - Wouldn't be surpised by a Rochester Adams or DLS in there either. D3: EGR over DeWitt - I never get sick of watching EGR in the finals for some reason. D4: GRWC over Marine City - This game could go either way. Both teams have been dominant all season. D5: JLC over Clare - Not sure about the Clare pick. They gave Montague a helluva game last year and returned a lot of people from what I hear. D6: Montague over MSMCC - If people though Montague was good last year, they're on a completely different level this year. Best team D4-D8, IMO. D7: TCSF over Mendon - Would like to see Ravenna get back there, but TCSF overmatches just about anyone. D8: MCC over CFFP - Experience and a tough schedule(understatement?) will get the Crusaders yet another.

The do lose one extremely good lineman, and at least one other very good lineman, but I would expect this team to really hit its stride in 2010...I then see a let down in the program (hopefully I'm wrong). For all I know, they do make the title game, but there are probably at least 5 teams on the other side of the bracket I would pick to beat them. Like others, I first take an early glance at the brackets and find some games that are key in each division and then project the teams that catch my eye through the pairings. Not a lot of science but mainly some feel and choices based on this season and a little history (My Major). NOTE: No returns, no guts, no glory! Just a guess! Division One: Rockford over Clarkston - have to stick with the Rams until another teams proves otherwise. Division Two: Muskegon over Inkster - Two teams with three defeats. This is purely a guess but all the hype on Lowell reminds me of last year when Lowell was better then this year. But then again, so was Muskegon! Division Three: EGR over Melvindale - Is this starting to looks like 2008 finals with different Eastside teams? Division Four: GR West Catholic over Marine City - A little different look here. Division Five: Ovid-Elsie over Madison Heights Madison - O-E returns a vetern team and MHM will suprise a few teams. Div. 2 and 5 are the hardest for me to pick. Division Six: Montague over MSMCC - Looked for another opponent for the Gue and could not see anyone beating MSMCC except for Da Gue. Division Seven: Ravenna over Ubly - I question Mendon's schedule. Division Eight: Muskegon Catholic Central over Lake Linden Hubbell - see Div. Six. Mehairbowl01 - Go Big Reds! Be Fine in 09! Time to Break Da Curse
