As goes for the north.. Walled lake central had the best record but Northern had a turn around season and will be a team to watch from now on. In the South
John glenn and Canton. In the central Stevenson and in the West Grand blanc and Howell. Were going to see alot of these seniors playing on saturday with some
pretty good college teams. great season

for the north i would have to say WLC, their JV qb was pretty much unstoppable running the ball all season and could be a factor on the varsity team. dont know
much about the other teams there.
for the south, i would say that canton and glenn are the obvious choices but i wouldnt count plymouth out either. in the west, i would pick brighton over any of the others right now. the incoming jv team finished undefeated and although they didnt blow people out of the water score wise, they were a very fundamentally sound team and made very few mistakes. add in the fact that a few of the better players (sophomores) were up on varsity for at least half of the season and saw quite a bit of playing time, it could be a turn around year for the bulldogs. in the central, it will be a very interesting season for these teams. none really stand out as great teams with outstanding players in my mind. stevenson will be tough as usual, but I was not impressed by the underclassmen coming up. Do they have another Austin White hiding in the cupboard? Novi, i think, will have another down year. I personally dont think that the coach used the talent that was there correctly, and now that he is gone, what will a new coach do? are they hiring from within, or are they searching from outside the district? Novi's JV team had a great season but can they compete at the varsity level? i believe there were something like 6 sophomores starting on the novi varsity team this season, and none really made that much of an impact in my mind. with the season that northville had this year, i would assume that most will be picking them as the early season favorites, or at least one of the top two teams. their jv team battled all season and never gave up in a game, but again how will they compete on the varsity level? south lyon is another one that could suprise some. they started alot of juniors this year and moved up a couple of sophomores who saw significant playing time in every game. they have some talent, it will all come down to how the talent is put to use. SLE is in for yet another dismal year, but i can see them getting over the hump and winning more than 1 or 2 games next season. dont know if they will have enough to come out of the basement yet, but they are moving their way up. Salem, what is there to say? not much talent there other than the sophomore running back who was moved up to varsity half way thru the season, but will there be enough other talent there to surround and protect him? only time will tell just my 2 cents worth, there are still alot of questions that need to be answered (coaching wise) in the central conference before things will become a little more clearer. the main ones are the novi situation, and will the stevenson coach stay again this season? I only ask the stevenson question because of what happened last off season with him resigning and then coming back. |

KLAA West..... GB-with Morley and Hayes coming back for their senior season I wouldn't bet against them. Grand Blanc JV has some very nice skilled position
talent that should fit in nicely with these guys. A lot of it will have to do with how much bigger and stronger the guys up front can get this offseason. The
two sophomores that were brought up early in the year should play a huge roll also now that they have that experience.

who hasn't given up hope . Canton is a far better team than given credit for , I think they can score on CC , can they hold them . The lone loss was a trap
game that could be seen coming , stuff was just too easy this year . Maybe whistling in the grave yard ,but the game could be competitive . Cantons backs could
find a place on just about anybodies roster , fast and pretty powerful for their size .

CC VS CANTON | #6 | ||

Canton is good but CC is just that much better. No one is going to run on this defense. They have to pass to even think about beating CC unless CC turns the ball over 3-4 times. Good luck. |

Yea, I just don't see Canton being able to run on CC. What will be very interesting is a game like CC vs SH Stevenson should they meet in the finals.
I'll be there for that!
Every year, folks say division 2 is tougher than Div1. Not this year. |

CC will run away with the title if they play with the same intensity that they played against Stevenson with. But for next year i really cant speculate because
we still have this year going on. But what i can say is that Stevenson has a pretty good RB duo with Duran Onwuomene and Leroy Glover. Glover isn't nearly
as explosive as White, but he will consistently pound out 6-8 yards per carry and is tough to bring down. But with a lack of QB for next years team, i dont see
them being the best in the division with either Novi or possibly Northville ahead of them.

Good honest comment Spartan. Stevenson will be better than you think. Novi will be rebuilding for another year. Does not mean there can not be upsets. I am
holding off on my opinion/analysis on Northville until I see them compete in pads next year. They have talent/size for the upcoming senior class (hopefully
these big kids will be working out, if not ??) . They have two outstanding Soph that played varsity this past year but the rest of the class is questionable
as to what they can bring to the table.

Novi's biggest problem last year was injuries at the QB spot. Heck, even before that, their #1 QB had NEVER played the position in his life.
I'm confident in their talent level for next year... the big question is who will be the new HC, and what he'll do with it. |

Mlive? :-)
While Burnside would be a good choice... that's not how the process works. All candidates will be interviewed and considered.

novi was a solid QB away from being 8-1 this season. Novi used 5 different QBs throughout the year and each of them had injury problems.
Derek Ince, the excellent JV QB is coming up, and the fantastic JV team will add on to a strong upcoming senior class. the JVs went 7-1-1, even with 3 sophomores playing on varsity. King, the soph LB was the leading tackler on the team. Masserant and Jocz also impacted the team. Novi will be good, 7-2 or so next year. 2011 could be special. |

Little too early and ambitious with a 7-2 prediction. Varsity is a whole different ballgame than JV. If you are going 7-2 with the JV team from this year good luck. Game is faster, tougher and the players are much bigger. The JV team needs a year and maybe if the kids grow and mature they maybe special in 2011. Mustangs have 14 starters coming back next year, mostly seniors. Trust me, a year of expereince at the next level (varsity) makes a huge difference. |

according to the roster novi had more than 3 sophomores playing up on varsity. i know they had 2 that started on D and one on offense, but there were some
others listed on the roster that were on the sideline every friday night

what Novi needs is to get their running game going and work the option like they always have.. they had some promising junior rbs that should be fed the ball
more next year (not sure why they coaches didnt utilize them last season) .. also ive seen the JV quarterback play and I'm not sure hes ready to command
the offense.. on defense Novi looks like theyre going to have a strong linebacker core to be the foundation of that defense.. Overall Novi will be a different
team next year with the coaching change and I believe it is for the best
