S1: Detroit Catholic Central 34, Holt 32 - Holt's nearly home-field advantage will make this game close. Detroit Catholic, contrary to Pendyllkope's predictions, is still trucking along.
S2: Clarkston 35, Utica Stevenson 27 - Stevenson not playing a non-MAC game until Week 12 will hurt them here. Clarkston has already beat two MAC Red teams in the playoffs.
Final: Detroit Catholic Central 24, Clarkston 20
Division 2
S1: Lowell 41, Birmingham Brother Rice 27 - Lowell's only loss is to D3 semifinalist East Grand Rapids. BBR is one of four 5-4 teams still alive in the playoffs.
S2: Inkster 35, Warren De La Salle 34 - Even though Inkster doesn't like to play defense, they'll beat at-large qualifier DLS to advance to Ford Field.
Final: Lowell 35, Inkster 28
Division 3
S1: East Grand Rapids 42, Ogemaw Heights 0 - Ogemaw's Cinderella run ends to three-time defending state champs EGR, who just dominated St. Joseph last week.
S2: Orchard Lake St. Mary's 24, DeWitt 21 - OLSM-EGR rematch for the second straight year? Sounds possible, even though OLSM qualified at 5-4 while DeWitt went 9-0.
Final: East Grand Rapids 33, Orchard Lake St. Mary's 21
Division 4
S1: Three Rivers 35, Saginaw Swan Valley 22 - Is this the year a closed-conference team wins a state title? After seeing Three Rivers beat two O-K Conference teams this year, the answer might be yes.
S2: Marine City 26, Marshall 24 - Both teams played a number of Class A schools during the regular season. MC played more, so I pick them here.
Final: Three Rivers 41, Marine City 35
Division 5
S1: Clare 25, Millington 21 - Both teams upset favored squads to make it to the semis. Clare beat the single wing of Menominee while Millington played Chris Robinson and Ovid-Elsie.
S2: Muskegon Heights 31, Jackson Lumen Christi 28 - This is sort of an upset pick, but Heights is playing better after their running-clock loss to Flushing in the regular season.
Final: Muskegon Heights 30, Clare 17
Division 6
S1: Montague 42, Ithaca 14 - Montague steamrolled through a tough West Michigan Conference schedule while Ithaca played weaklings in the Tri-Valley Conference.
S2: Monroe St. Mary Catholic 52, Constantine 21 - St. Mary played an extremely tough schedule (beat Class A playoff team Carleton Airport) while Constantine didn't play a non-conference game until Week 11.
Final: Montague 27, Monroe St. Mary Catholic 26
Division 7
S1: Traverse City St. Francis 55, Ravenna 28 - The WMC won't win two state titles this year because St. Francis has two 1-A players, which is unusual for a school of about 300 kids.
S2: Hudson 44, Ubly 38 - Hudson will have some mojo working after beating Mendon last week.
Final: Traverse City St. Francis 33, Hudson 19
Division 8
S1: Frankfort 35, Crystal Falls Forest Park 24 - Both of these teams weren't expected to make it this far. Frankfort gets a rematch of their Week 2 game.
S2: Muskegon Catholic Central 41, Beal City 14 - This is becoming a rivalry. MCC is rolling after being 3-4 at one point this season.
Final: Muskegon Catholic Central 46, Frankfort 10
