CC next year |

Was just wondering what to expect next year. Who are the players from the JV or froshmen team competing for a starting spot. It looks like CC has a nice core
of players returning, capable of making a long playoff run if they stay focused and hungry.

CC, as is usually the case, graduates a lot of starters. The 2008 team was a bit of an anomaly, it did not graduate many starters----2008 senior class was
not that strong. That paved the way for a lot of the juniors (that had an obviously very solid class) to get starting roles. This years senior
class----despite having a very talented junior class underneath it, was quite strong and worked their tails off in the offseason to make sure that they kept
the juniors at bay this year. Between the hard work and the GREAT senior leadership from all of the seniors, it turned into a very special year for the CC
team.
Next years senior class will be loaded again. This class has never lost a league game in the CHSL---going undefeated as freshman, sophomores and Juniors. My best guess as tentative starters for next year (of course this can change depending on how hard all of the kids work in the offseason) is as follows:QB--Birney (fastest player on the team this year). He will get pushed by Junior Kyle Cooper (6'5"+ BB player and JV starter this year).OL---Tackles Godin and Wilkins. Big, strong athletic tackles. Godin could be the next big time D1 player that CC puts out (note-I am not his father).Guards---Tammaro and Lawless (both athletic, fast and strong guys). Tammaro played in the O backfield as Frosh and SO----was a beast (does he move back to O back?).Center. Gates/Trealout. Backfield. Lots of speed. Not quite the Niko size player but more overall speed in the backfield. Nelson, Erickson, D'agostino, Messner, Diponio, and Birney should give the offense a lot of firepower. There are some additional weapons in the current frosh and SO classes that could also see meaningful time as well.TE---Darany and Doneth---solid players. Darany will be a 3 year starter.WR---Hamlin/Ebrat/Tibbits perhaps one of the aformentioned running backs.Defense---DL--Tammaro will man one of spots. Darany could man another one. Byrne, Wesley, Breaugh, Wilkins, Lawless, Godin, Gates will be in the mix as well. All solid players. Again, depends on who works the hardest in the offseason. Lots of depth at this position.LB's----D'Agostino and Messner with the other spot being fought out by Diponio, Schertzer, Monarch, Hamlin, and Gardner.DB's---Nelson (given). Voutsos, Ebrat, Tibbits. Plus, Mach brought up a handful of Sophomore Db's from the JV team for the playoffs. They will also be in the mix----also could slip one of the faster LB's that I already mentioned to a safety. Lots of new talent coming in from the current Sophomore class.......with a lot of familiar names to the CC followers. As with this years juniors, the talented JV players (plus a current frosh running back) can jump into the mix with a big offseason. It will spur the current batch of juniors to kick it up a notch to stay ahead of the current sophomores------just how Mach likes it. Mach, after a few down years after the move to Novi, has a lot of solid players that will be filling the pipeline for the foreseeable future. Having senior laden teams is the recipe for success that Mach likes. He will have that luxury again next year.If CC gets the same type of senior leadership that it got this year, it could be another very special year for the blue and white. Kaycob added this observation >>>>>>>>>> I think you can also include Erickson to the LB depth chart and project Monarch moreso as a strong safety. |

I heard something very interesting from a reliable source........ A top, top RB may be transferring to CC. Of course I don't know all the details, but I
did see unsaid person a recent CC playoff game. Apparently unsaid person wanted to transfer to CC last year, but there was some logistical or financial issue.

Hey thanks to everyone who has replied. However since I was not able to attend any JV or frosh games are their any underclassmen who will make a push toward
playing time. If so what are their names, height, weight, playing style any information would be appreciated. Also heard I believe on mlive that CC might have
a top running back transfering in? I understand we dont want to be name dropping on a high school forum but maybe some one could say drop the conference the
young man plays in.

Still interessted in learning the CC sophs and frosh that may be competing for playing time next year. Looks like CC may be able to make another long run but it seems that they may need help from key underclassmen. Any info is appreciated thanks.
