Senior Posts: 171 08/13/08 5:01 PM	Tags : None Buckland Media is reporting that Standish-Sterling has earned a forfeit win over Beaverton in week 1. Last year, the 2 teams played in week 1 and S-S. had assumed that Beaverton would fulfill it's part of the contract to play again this year. Freshmen Unranked Walkon Posts: 9 08/13/08 11:44 PM The Senator's Chamber	I just don't get it. I've seen all of these teams play recently, and I have no idea why Beaverton would do this. Even if SSC would have let them get out, the Beavers are a long way from making the playoffs, let alone beating St. Louis. Farwell was 0-9 and we were "thisclose" to beating the Beavers, and the Beavers lose most of the talent they had. The Beavers have ZERO chance to make it to 4 wins, let alone 6. Losing to SSC would prove to be much more helpful to a young team than most anything else. It could show them the level that they need to reach in the coming years. I'll be rooting for fellow Farwell Alum Al Esterline's Sharks in this one. But I wonder if he gets credit for the win???

Senior Posts: 175 08/19/08 10:01 PM	In a strange twist, the MHSAA now has Beaverton playing Standish-Sterling in week 1 (not St. Louis) and leaving St. Louis with a bye for week 1. All along, Standish-Sterling has had Beaverton scheduled in week 1. On highschoolsports.net, both Beaverton and St. Louis have their game scheduled against each other in week 1. Standish-Sterling has Beaverton scheduled in week 1. I guess we will not know who plays who until the results come in for week 1.

All-Searn Hall of Fame Posts: 5637 08/19/08 10:11 PM MHSAA Football Stats	In a strange twist, the MHSAA now has Beaverton playing Standish-Sterling in week 1 (not St. Louis) and leaving St. Louis with a bye for week 1. Perhaps the MHSAA stepped in to force Beaverton to play Standish Sterling in order to honor the first contract or face some consequences. Based on your open dates link St. Louis can still play: Roseville Michigan Collegiate (D) I guess that the MHSAA didn't leave an open date for week 1 on the St. Louis side of the equation as it was 9/5 that I was looking at instead of an August date.
