Sounds like a nice pickup for the Spartans ....
Considering I follow the ND recruiting pretty tight ... and have never heard of the kid .... I'm guessing ND never had a shot at him.
Interested in where MHSAA players will be playing at the next level and/or college football in
general?

I think I figured out why I never heard of him .... Neither Scout nor Rivals has ND offering a scholarship to Jairus Jones ...
I'm sure he'll be a very good player for the Spartans .... and ND has a few scholarships still open this year so I wouldn't mind having him in South Bend ... but I can't find anything that says ND actually offered him a scholarship.

Don't kill the messenger, I only repeated what the article said. ND was included among the teams that he turned down in the article.
Jones reportedly chose MSU over Oklahoma State, Iowa, Notre Dame and Syracuse. |

But as far as I know he was never offered. ... I'm not sure how many guys ND and MSU have gone head to head for this year .... I know MSU has already beat out ND for the linebacker from Traverse City from the class of 2010.
