Ducks suspended RB LeGarrette Blount for the year today following his sucker punch at the end of the game last night. I don't know how any of you feel
and I really dont like the Ducks at all, but I think they handled this very well. With Blount being a Senior this ended his playing days. But the University
has given him the opportunity to continue to practice with the team and keep his scholarship. Essesntially they are giving him a chance not to play ever again
in College but to prove he isnt a thug and stick it out. Given his behavioral problems in the past I am interested to see if he just says screw it or if he
actually sticks this out. Either way I really love the way the new Oregon Coach handled this.

I think that the Boise State football player deserves the same fate since he trashed talked during the hand shakes instead of saying "good game" or
just shake hands and be done with it. I watched the game via tivo but heard about the incident earlier in the day.
Boise State shamelessly isn't suspending Hout even since this is an ESPN article: Hout won't be suspended for taunting Blount. Boise State spokesman Max Corbet told The Associated Press in an e-mail that Petersen planned to spend time with Hout this week to help him learn from what happened.

This whole situation can go both ways, sure Hout did taunt Blount, but there is no excuse for a sucker punch or going into the stands to try and fight fans. I
support Coach Kelly on his decision, I think Hout being embarrassed on national TV will be a lesson before he runs his mouth again. Everyone will say that
Blount didnt start it, but the end result two wrongs dont make a right. And the whole irony of the incident is that before the game there was a pre-game
handshake to promote sportsmanship this year, how poorly that failed lol.

No one is excusing the Oregon player for what he did. I just think that it is wrong for Hout to do what he did also since basically he put his hand on Blount's jersey besides the trash talking. Where was the Boise State security over by the way that the Ducks were to exit the field? Home team is responsible to make sure that there isn't any incidents when the opposing team leaves the field. They are suppose to be over there so fans don't throw things at the opposing players, which I've seen reports that the Boise State fans threw things at Blount before he went into the stands. Pre game and after game handshakes are for the birds. Remember the Florida State vs. Notre Dame pre game incident when the refs wasn't on the field. I've seen incidents at high school football games as well when I've stuck around after the games, which isn't that frequently. |

The kid from Boise should face at least a game suspension for trash talking after winning a game. AND a little extra work after practice if you know what I
mean. I think the whole season for the kid from Oregon is a little harsh but I don't know his whole history. I think I would have gone half the season
though at least.

I agree something must happen to the Boise player, but trash talking and landing a sucker punch and acting like a thug in pads are far different crimes. I
would send the Boise kid to do some community work and make him sit on the sidelines suited up a game. Yeah and I wouldn't be opposed to make the kid run
until he was sick.

Despite what the Boise State spokesman said, Hout is going to be punished internally without it being made public according to the Boise State head football
coach. This was on ESPN today. Personally since Oregon announced their punishment for Blount, Boise State should do the same for Hout.
BTW Blount could have redshirted or transferred to a D2 or D3 school to continue his eligibility. However, he's sticking to Oregon since some NFL team will draft him despite this incident.

Running the mouth and talkin smack is part of the game. Hard to control that. I think they obvioulsy felt an example had to be made out of this young man. Cant
have this type of thug activity happening again.
