Detroit Cody situation |

I was wondering why Cody forfeited last week. Thanks to Vince I now know. It's too bad that this happens in our society, but can't really blame the
PSL administration for taking action when fans lives might be in danger as well.

I recall a certain MEGA boys basketball game in the past being ppd. or being played right after school due to gang related activities as well so it just
isn't the PSL. Basically fans have to hope that this doesn't happen at sporting events. There was a coaching shooting incident in the PSL recently as
well.

The PSL is inept when it comes to scheduling games and reporting scores.
A few examples of this include: 1. Only Kettering found a replacement game for Chadsey when they closed. 2. No school has found a replacement game for Southwestern. 3. Some scores aren't often reported until Sunday or Monday, even though they play BEFORE the vast majority of schools. Cass Tech (Chadsey) and Kettering (Southwestern) should have played each other last Friday, but guess what? They didn't! |

DPS | #4 | ||

Violence is up at the schools for numerous reasons. The economy is of course important. First layoffs. And DPS has taken the high school staff and reassigned
them willy nilly. It takes at least two years for new staff to get to know the students. Plus closing schools force differing groups of kids together. The
suburbs are not immune from these problems either, just hits Detroit first.
