#1. Grand Blanc vs Walled Lake Central
This is the top game because both teams are undefeated. On paper, Grand Blanc is the better team: Tougher schedule; more college prospects on the roster; Division 1 vs WLC being Division 2. The game is at WLC. Interestingly, outside of going after an undefeated season, neither team really "needs" this game. A fair prediction would be that after week 9, one of these teams is undefeated while the other is 8-1. Those records will get both teams two home playoff games (if they win the first one, of course). Hopefully, the weather will be better than last Friday evening
#2. Canton vs Stevenson
Canton has been tough all season while Stevenson has rebounded nicely after dropping their first two games. I don't think Stevenson will be able to contain Canton's offense from putting up 28 - 35 points. Meanwhile, Canton's defense will focus on Austin White to shut down Stevenson.
#3. Northville vs John Glenn
Even at 5-2, Northville still has to "prove it." Well, here is their chance. Both teams are in the hunt for the playoffs. I think that John Glenn has played consistently better than Northville. But Northville has shown that it can play good. My advice to Northville: Watch out for Glenn's fake field goals.
#4. Howell vs Lakeland
Lakeland, like Stevenson, has picked it up a notch after a tough start. Howell is tough, only losing to Grand Blanc. I think Howell will pound away at Lakeland and win a close and probably low-scoring game.
#5. Brighton vs Walled Lake Northern
WLN still has the glimmer of a playoff hope. Here's my question: Where is the game being played? If it's at WLN, the Knights spread offense may put up big numbers and beat Brighton. However, if this game is Brighton, well.......The quarterbacks, running backs and receivers better wear mud flaps. Home field for Brighton will definitely work in their favor by slowing down the WLN offense.
