what in the world was controversial about it????

Well, I wasn't looking to argue with you. I'm just not sure what you are even referring to. There are lots of good photos and video of the only two close calls I can think of (last play before half and Spencer's 4th down catch) and I've not seen any complaints, once people saw the photos and videos. None from Porritt, Thomas, Hunter, etc. Bolden, himself, didn't even argue the last play before half. Det News photo shows pretty clearly that Spencer's hands were under the ball and I didn't read any reporters even suggesting otherwise.
Am I missing something, any others out there think EGR-OLSM game was controversial??
EDIT: On the way home last night I read (on my new phone) the Oakland Press article by Keith Dunlap. In it he referred to the "controversial catch" by Spencer on 4th down. Of course, I had not yet seen video or photos and I was unsure about it as well. Just went to the Oakland Press site and re-read the article and noticed that even Keith has edited his comment out - probably after seeing what we all can see.

I can't seem to find the fumble non-call and haven't heard anyone else reference it, so I can't really comment on that. Being at the game, I don't remember any oohs and boos over any non-call fumble. Let me give you another take on the other play....DB was in front of Colin (Colin trailing) and running to the corner. He stopped short and Colin, looking back for the ball, ran into him. Having 12 inches and probably 60 pounds on the guy, it's no wonder he stumbled forward. On a throw like that, generally officials don't call interference, one way or another, unless you use your arms impede the other persons arms or his position. Body bumps on leaps into the air are not usually called penalties. If Colin had shoved the kid to avoid him making an interception, then I would agree with you, but it looked more like incidental contact to me - and obviously to the officials. Either way, I fail to see how this call (or no-call) can make the whole game controversial. There are at least a hundred calls (and no-calls) in a game. Unless it is unanimously egregious, and occurring at a pivotal time in the game it usually doesn't rise to the level of making the whole game controversial. While you are entitled to your opinion, I doubt very much any historians are gonna put an asterisk on this game for that call.
